Hey all,.
I've seen the thread regarding removing BIOS password's for Asus laptops using the alt-r recovery date method. Unfortunately, I don't seem to have a way to do that. For reference, the thread is below. I could attempt to painstakingly try every password, but I'm wondering if there's anything else to try. I have an Asus UX430U. I have removed the battery previously and held down the power button for over an hour with nothing connected. Didn't seem to affect anything. I do not see a CMOS battery on the board or a KTS or anything that would be obvious to jump pins to clear the BIOS settings. Any suggestions on what else to try? I cannot boot to windows, just flashes the Asus screen then direct to password. Someone mentioned flashing a newer or older bios on, as far as I understand, I would need some kind of access to windows to accomplish this? If not, could someone clarify what I can do?
