  1. Thanks for bringing up these points for the Ryzen setup. The Aorus Master was just a 'same name' board I randomly chose but there are boards that are both Tier A like Aorus Ultra we can substitute in just for discussions sake. Note there is roughly $70 difference between X570 and Z390. Upgradable down the line would be nice, but I suppose for now, given the similarity in prices, a 9900KF would produce much higher frames at 1080p (I use 240hz monitor - mainly for shooters and not AAA titles).
  2. This is what I was trying to figure out. So AM4 can support 16+ cores? Has it been confirmed this is the last gen for 1151?
  3. Thanks guys for the replies! The mobo choice was more just to show the price differences between the same board from Z390 to X570. Everywhere I read compares the 3700X to 9700K because they are in the same low-mid $300 price range, but what they dont show is the mobo price difference is nearly $100. Which is why I posed the question of 9900KF vs 3700X given the same model mobo the prices are not that far off. Most gamers looking at those CPU's anyway already have an AIO or high end aircooler so the priced saved from the factory cooler wouldnt be a big factor.
  4. With current prices, an i9 - 9900KF paired with a Z390 Gigabyte Aorus Master comes out to $689.98. A 3700X paired with the equivalent X570 Gigabyte Aorus Master comes out to $687.88. Difference of $2.10! If I use my PC primarily for gaming is there any reason to get the Ryzen setup? It would be paired with an existing RTX 2080 and 240hz monitor. Other than maybe PCIE4 and productivity which I rarely use the pc for... dollar for dollar wouldn't it be a no brainer to get the 9900KF? Thoughts appreciated!
