  1. Aerocool cylon. It's shit in the fact that it's max cpu cooler height is 155mm, not many tower coolers are under this. And i would say maybe a month or so.
  2. yes i do have the latest of both of those, I have a corsair h60 v2, I idle at 55C, around 50% is 65C, and 100% usage is about 75C. I use the radiator fan as a double for an intake, and a fan above to the left of my io as an outtake. It stays relatively cool in there
  3. No matter the task it just stays from around 3.85ghz to 4.05ghz. I have tried turning on and off pbo and cool n quiet in the bios, changing power plans, and nothing works. Cpu ratio is on auto (msi max b450 tomahawk), and nothing i am aware of is limiting it. A few weeks ago this never happened, it would drop down to 3.6ghz, and go all the way to 4.15-4.2ghz. Any way to fix this? I am getting noticeably worse performance on cinebench, so when rendering a video, this shows the difference between minutes in rendering a video.
  4. yes but a ryzen 5 3600 shouldn't be doing this, I can run siege and battlefield simultaneously and still not get to 85%. It's obviously a software problem. And before opening gta 5, these processes use about 0-4%. So it's obviously gta 5's fault. And when i end a task using a high amount of cpu, a dormant process just jumps back up
  5. Ignore chrome taking up that much cpu, it's bullshit, and the top cpu using program changes every 30 seconds. I have a ryzen 5 3600, and every time i boot up gta 5 this happens. When in game i use about 40%, and as you can see in the menu even less. But windows is stupid and is recognising it as 100%. I would normally just ignore this, but because of this, i get laggy performance around other programs and things. When typing, there is about 5 second input delay, opening a new program takes 20 seconds, and just overall a lot worse performance. This makes no sense, and i have tried the solutions online, but none work. Any ideas?
  6. well i set it to 1.225V in bios, and while at idle, it sometimes goes up to 1.225 and while stressing it 100% on all cores and threads, only 1.212V
  7. So I built this pc about 2 months ago. I instantly started to get a bit worried. I ran prime95 for 10 minutes, and the voltages only dropped to 1.35v. I'm aware that anything over 1.3v on this chip will kill it extremely quickly. I'm unsure what to do. I'm not overclocking it, the voltage settings in my bios are on auto, i have no clue why this is happening. Should i be worried, and how can i fix this? I saw some other posts about amd cool n quiet being the problem, but I am still unsure.
  8. want the full thing? here https://www.solutionsbybrandon.com.au/evga-hybrid-kit-for-evga-geforce-rtx-2080-ti-ftw3-400-hy-1484-b1-rgb-400-hy-1484-b1.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiA5dPuBRCrARIsAJL7oejxCT2RmVjrXh8UVF31U419FaQoKGkH1z27FEsvdDKODcAe5fXKyYsaAgJdEALw_wcB
  9. Note before anything: i am not trying to promote this company, i was just looking around at graphics cards and came across this So anyway with that out the way, https://bit.ly/373AL76 , this seems preeeeetty fake, a 2080ti for $262.49. I have no idea what currency, but on the preview picture, the box shows a plain 2080. I have no clue what to think of this. The shop is located in melbourne, AUS, and has a 1.3 star review rating.
  10. according to my friend who has dealt with inno3d before, its really bad at cooling, i mean i don't really pay attention, or tested it because my temp limit was at stock. but oh well, ive increased it
  11. doesn't some solder melt at 90C, also max temp limit on msi afterburner is 92, soooo if its using the solder that melts that low...
  12. i set it to 77C myself, is that low? At stock, it was at 73C or something like that
  13. So i have an Inno3d gtx 1070 v2. Pretty old card, but also not the best for demanding games. So what do i do? Overclock of course!. Problem is, on msi afterburner, i can't go over like +150mhz, or i just go completely unstable and crash in most games after a few minutes. I have increased my power limit, my temp limit it 77C. Would increasing the core voltage help with an unstable overclock? (i have increased it by 5% at the moment, i will try increments of 5). I don't really plan on lowering the clocks, i wanna push for the highest fps for my 144hz monitor.
  14. doesn't dismiss the fact that before the power trip, the monitor wasnt picking up any input at all. we even ran the pc off integrated graphics and the pc still wasn't picking up the gpu. then the power tripped
  15. but how can a change in a gpu affect how the psu performs? like beforehand it was having to power something that demanded even more power so how can something that requires less destroy it?
  16. his specs: i7 8086k z390 gaming plus tridentz 32gb ddr4 ram 2666mhz msi gtx 1080ti corsair rm1000x his specs were definitely high end and could've support the gpu easily. The computer was running just fine beforehand so it was obviously the gpus fault. We put it in right (it has a locking mechanism), screwed it on the backplate of the case, put in the 8 power pins, and caused a power trip and ruined his psu. I have nearly no trust for this part, if it can actually manage to trip the power to the house it is obviously dangerous.
  17. "dishonest". it broke my friends pc. I reckon the pc is just not wanting to boot at all without ram, and if it did, the same thing that happened to my friends pc will happen to mine. Answer me this: would you rather have a faulty part, or a slightly worse part that you know won't ruin your pc?
  18. ok, thanks dude, was just wondering, but i have a video of this (the reason why i named the title as such is just so i can have proof for a refund, i wont let them know that there i no ram installed, i am hoping to get an unused gtx 1660s sooo) https://youtu.be/RZhHtxVq4-E
  19. well i did test this gpu in my friends pc, because it was used i wanted to see if it worked to see if i needed a refund. The exact same thing happened. The fans started spinning, but the pc never picked up any input. But the it caused a power trip and fried his psu, he had ram. Should i try testing it with ram? I did take it to my local pc store and they said "it worked". I never saw them test it, but oh well. I did have the pc on and running for a good 20 minutes and i didn't notice and faults, of course other than the monitor not picking up any display inputs. But my hardware engineer friend told me that this was expected. Im still a bit skeptical about no display inputs. Im 99% sure it would boot than say "no ram detected" on a debug screen. Oh well, guess my pc doesn't have a debug screen saying that. The mobo does have lights that light up for troubleshooting, it is doing its job by lighting up the ram light.
