  1. Patiently waiting for the power strip magnets, and now adding the new cable arches to that waiting list.
  2. I recently got a sit-stand desk and I can't stop thinking about those magnetic power strip mounts that Linus briefly mentioned in a video. I almost want an update video on their progress, although I know they're probably not as high interest as the screwdriver was. It'd also be awesome if there were magnetic cable mounts to accompany them, perhaps even simply with a loop to accommodate velcro cable ties. So far I've only seen 3M adhesive ones which seem more like a brute solution with zero room for mind-changing.
  3. I was already aware of this, but I only just realized that I'd probably be able to daisy-chain a third screen as well. I still wanna know if I should consider something else, but I'm realizing there are fewer things to worry about regarding the Zephyrus G14. Thank you anyway.
  4. I'm looking for the best laptop for my needs. I write music in CPU intensive software, and use a sketch program and Inkspace for graphic design. I also intend to be able play games smoothly at medium to high graphics such as Doom, Warzone and Civilization VI, to name a few. I was initially looking at the new Zephyrus G14 for my needs, but the lack of an additional DisplayPort put me off, especially because I wanted to take advantage of AMD for multi-tasking with multiple displays at home (it remains a strong contender for me). I was also looking at a Lenovo Y740 after a previous suggestion, but my budget has increased and I want a better grasp of the possibilities. This laptop is intended to be my all around "workhorse", as my old one is terrible and I need the portability. Budget is between $1'000 USD to $2'500 USD, but I can push it if necessary Should be sturdy enough where I don't have to worry too much if I bump it every now and then No weight limit Battery life should be decent (4+ hours with high use or similar to Zeph G14) Higher than 60hz refresh rate The closer the color accuracy, the better (if possible) DisplayPort If Intel CPU, should have Thunderbolt (with PD) If AMD, should have USB-C with DisplayPort compatibility 2-3 USB-A ports Doesn't need a webcam, but it would be welcome Should be capable with 2 external displays
  5. Thank you! I will end up going with either the Y740 or the GP65. These two feel better to me both performance-wise and aesthetically. I'm glad you provided numerous options so that I can decide further between minor details. Cheers!
  6. 6 lbs (I dunno how heavy 13"-15" laptops can get) is probably my max, as I'm a commuter. My preferred minimum amount of battery life would be 3-4 hours, but yes, lower battery life is okay if/when necessary.
  7. I'm from the US. I'd like to stay below $1'800 if possible, but am willing to work up funds if a higher price is necessary. I would like it to be lightweight, but obviously, build quality would be more of a concern. I'd like good battery life so I don't always have to have it plugged in, but I can manage with the battery life being okay.
  8. I'm looking for a mid- to high-range laptop that can run Ableton and Musescore smoothly. I would like it to be able to run Doom and other games (my current laptop can't) for casual gaming. I absolutely need it to have accurate, if not near accurate, colors for mild photo and video editing, as well as sketching and graphic design. The refresh rate should be at least 90. I don't need to have a large display or 4k, and it shouldn't have a weird resolution/aspect ratio that warps application windows. If someone could please help me decide on the best purchase for my needs, I'd be very grateful.
