  1. So I've recently put together a new build (specs down below) and everything seems fine except the memory which won't run on it's XMP profile and only runs stable at 2133mhz at 15-15-15-15 timings. I've tried raising the dram voltage but without succes it won't get stable. I've also tried to manually overclock (first build so maybe i'm doing it wrong) but also without any succes. I know the memory is not on the motherboards QVL but since it's G.Skill I should be able to run it at least higher than 2133 no? The ram modules are in the slots the mobo manual suggested for a two stick setup. Also the pc boots fine and lighter programs do not seem to bother the ram is on it's XMP but when i fire up Photoshop or Blender it crashes almost instantly. Doe anyone have any ideas what the problem can be or what I can do to make it run at a decent speed? mobo: x570 Aorus Elite (on F10 UEFI) cpu: Ryzen 9 3900x ram: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 3600 (16-19-19-19-58) (2x16gb)
  2. Thanks! I updated the BIOS to the newest version and at first the problem was gone but this morning it was back. But i figured out it's a conflict between the motherboard and the memory. The board won't allow the memory to run it's xmp profile, it always resets the UEFI and thus also the memory to 2133mhz.
  3. So I recently build my first custom build pc with the purpose of creatine a 3d model workstation. But now it keeps crashing every piece of modelling software I have. I thought it was maybe a memory problem but after running memtest86 i got no errors. My specs are: Cpu: Ryzen 9 3900x Gpu: MSI 2070s Gaming X trio Psu: Corsair RM750 Ram: G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600 Cas 16 Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 Aorus Elite Ssd: Samsung 970 Evo The graphics card, chipset and lan drivers and Windows are all up to date. The UEFI is still how it came out of the box (F3) and the memory is running at his stock xmp profile. Can anyone please help me, it's making me so sad.
  4. Can someone help me with a, at least two my knowledge, difficult choice: I want to build a pc mainly to get my schoolwork done (i'm studying architecture) but I'm also into programming and want to experiment with GAN neural networks, and game a little on the side (nothing too fancy) so what would be the best card for me? A 2080 super for broader compatibility or a Radeon VII for it's raw compute power and big 16gb VRAM (but isn't that good besides opencl and compute)
