  1. What do you think about the protection?
  2. I am building for a friend, and I am looking a bang for the buck power supply. I think RM750X is a bit on the high price.
  3. I will be powering R9 3900X and currently GT730 just for display anyhow. In the future planning to upgrade to a more modern card, maybe 3070 or 3080, and not planning on overclocking.
  4. Are you planning on indulging yourself in any ray traced enabled game?
  5. Hi Guys, Just want a little help deciding between Deepcool DQ750ST (10 yr warranty) and CX650M (5 yr warranty). The reason I couldn't decide is because: 1. DQ750ST does not have OCP and OTP. DQ750ST DEEPCOOL- Power Supply Units 2. CX650M does not mention any kind of protection at all in its website. CX Series™ CX650M — 650 Watt 80 PLUS® Bronze Certified Modular ATX PSU (corsair.com) Which one should I go with? Thank you and merry new year!
  6. Hi Nick, I ended up using the Motherboard storage, because my understanding told me that since it is utilizing Intel's on board RAID "software", therefore it has a way to "finish up" its pending cloning tasks at a later date in case of power failure. I might be wrong, but maybe windows don't have time to "store pending tasks" since motherboard RAID has "direct" access to motherboard's battery to run it's little software and retain information necessary to continue its RAIDing tasks. I might also be talking gibberish just now, but that's how I justify using Motherboard one. I was a bit worried about the second hard disk not showing up in the Window's Disk Management utility, because if I were to use the Window's RAID, both would still show up as a same Drive Letter. With the motherboard RAID setup, Windows will only detect both as one. I checked using the Intel RST utility (I think that's what it is called), and it shows both drives in RAID 1 array. It is not much simpler but I think since I set it up at the most basic system, then should be better. I still have to initiate the disk in MBR or GBT partition table in Windows in the end (due to new drives), but it is a fairly painless process. One decision down, and many more to come in order set up off site backup just using Windows. I don't feel like using other OS or system or ready-made system due to its learning curve and compatibility. Thanks for your response too Nick.
  7. Thanks for your recommendations, and it seems still far ahead of my skill of setting up. I am still learning slowly. Still, the ultimate choice I have for now is between the motherboard or Windows 10. Which one should I choose? And why?
  8. Is the Motherboard RAID considered hardware or software RAID? I am planning on building off site backup. Redundancy just in case one file, the server can keep on running.
  9. Please elaborate on software, what do you mean by that? I am a noob. I use RAID 1 for redundancy.
  10. Dear Masters, I am torn between setting up RAID 1 in my Motherboard Gigabyte Z390 M UEFI setup or do it in Windows 10. The two HDD I am setting up in RAID 1 are Seagate Ironwolf 2Tb and WD Red 2TB. My other setup are i7-9700 and 2x8 GB RAM. 1. Why is one better than the other? 2. If I were to do it thru my motherboard, is it hardware specific? I just wonder if it is, then I gotta go to Windows 10 option in case my motherboard dies on me. 3. I am doing it purely from motherboard, no additional cards. 4. I mean since this is RAID 1, it is just "copying" the file to the other drive right? Maybe? Thank you The Undecicive
  11. @Princess Luna, @Wolfycapt Thank you for both of your assurances :).
  12. Hi Guys, just wondering if my newly built (i7-9700 non-K), no Windows installed yet and in an AC Room idle temp normal? It hovers around 41°C. Thank you for your insight
  13. Gotta be careful for the BIOS compatibility. U gotta harass the seller to get u the latest BIOS or update it for you. Or else u gotta buy a supported LGA 1151 CPU or borrow from someone just to update the GPU. I suggest go for Z390 instead buddy. As for your question, I don't know which one is better Intel or AMD. I guess if u r going to do some work in ur PC, I'd say go for Intel. Because my feelings said that (I might have been brain washed and have very little experience on AMD) most of the productivity programs are optimized for Intel. I could be very wrong, so just don't take my word for this answer between AMD vs Intel.

  15. Hi All, I know @Linus did a video on set up an off site backup server once I wonder if that is still a good way doing it. I have an office file server running: - Windows 10 - 1 nvme for boot drive - 2 HDD running in RAID 1 (Mirroring). At home I have a PC with plenty of HDD space, and it is running on Windows 10 also. I am planning on making it as a daily or weekly off site backup server and maybe setting up a NAS / file server (which can be accessed online) for my house use. I am not thinking of getting Synology (trying to utilize my pc to the max) or using any other kind of OS since I only know Windows 10 and so it is streamlined. My Q: 1. As stated above, is it still a simple and good way of doing it? 2. I have used a backup program that backs up in a weird proprietary file format that I am not keen of using. What is the program that I can use to achieve the result I am looking to achieve as described above with the computers I have? I also don't want the program to back up to a weird file format. Too much to ask eh? Haha thank you for bearing with my questions. I am new in the computer server world, so I don't know what I am doing. Thank you for your help.
