  1. I have just played a game with him and it's too late, he could'nt wait, so Omen it is for 1500€, not that bad I think. But again thanks for your time! Have a nice one!
  2. Yeah, november is still quite far away, don't know if he's able to wait that long... But thanks anyway for the advice.
  3. Budget (including currency): 2000€ Country: France Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CS:GO, Apex, AoE2 and basic Microsoft programs Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): My friend is looking for a new gaming laptop, (I tried to convince him to build his own desktop but he doesn't want to take the time). He found this one: OMEN by HP 15-dc1003nf What do you think about it? Do you have any alternative coming to mind, money isn't really the problem but if you can save him a few € I am sure he would be glad. I know that he doesn't want 4K, and he doesn't realy need a monster rig for playing Apex I guess. Have a nice day!
  4. I am always learning something when I'm coming here. Thanks again for taking the time. I have just noticed that you were from New York and that @DrMacintosh was from California, so I've just wanted to wish you good luck and mighty patience. This is my third week confined inside my flat here in Paris (with my two 3 years old kids) and time is getting very very slow... So be safe and thanks again!
  5. I guess Compute 1 is the equivalent of CUDA? (Can't find it on the list).
  6. Always amazed by the quickness of answers here... So here it is: Have a nice day!
  7. Hello folders! I have a question for you. I recently started folding (following Linus video), on the web interface and on the advanced control window, my GPU (AMD Radeon 5700 XT) seems to be running, however when looking into the task manager, the GPU stays around 0% of usage. Do you have any idea why? Is it still the same problem regarding this GPU? I asked pretty much the same question here 3 or 4 months ago and someone told me that this GPU was not yet supported by the Folding@home project. Is it still the case ? Have a nice day! Erwin
  8. About the monitor, what do you think about the BenQ PD2700U? https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/benq-pd2700u-4k-hdr-monitor,5975.html Seems like a nice monitor for a non gamer and not so expensive.

  10. Ok, I understand. For the monitor, she doesn't really know what would be the advantages of an Ultrawide, she'll have to dig into that a bit more. About the RAM now, is 32GB enough? She read here that 64GB would be better (of course it would) but is it really worth it ? https://www.pugetsystems.com/recommended/Recommended-Systems-for-Adobe-Premiere-Pro-CC-143/Hardware-Recommendations Another thing, she is quite impressed by the reactivity here and I am too, so thanks a lot everyone!
  11. And don't you think that Premiere Pro will adapt their SW for this kind of behemoth in the near futur ? For the monitor I am waiting for her answer.
  12. Thank you for your answer, I hope that it will be enough to convince her.
  13. I love how everything from her list is changed... Thanks for your answer, your list seems to be great. I was wondering what about this fancy new R9 3950X ? And any idea on 4K monitors ?
