  1. What I'm looking for is the same type of benchmarks they do for gaming to be applied to some Machine learning. So what effect does overclocking the GPU have on training a model? What is the speed up of training various models with GPU X vs GPU Y? What kind of performance increase is there in memory transfer if the data is stored on an NVMe drive vs ssd? What are the effects of different chipsets and the throughput of data transfered to the GPU for processing. What about water-cooling? It's basically all the same questions they do for gaming to really nail down what effects different components have on FPS, but I want to see what the effects are for training a model. Different types of models, different data sets, different size input images, etc. NVidia is devoting so much research to their CUDA platform, and they're making these huge claims. I want to see if the claims can be substantiated, and if they're effected by the other components in the computer, etc.
  2. Machine Learning Benchmarks I found LTT because I got into machine learning and needed to know more about GPU's. While I love the info-tainment of LTT, I don't actually game that often. However, I've become an avid LTT consumer anyway; their content is just so good. I would absolutely LOVE it if in this new lab you included some level of machine learning benchmarks. There are a bunch of standard models for consistency. You could partner with someone like SentDex to help decide what models / methods are worth testing. Ideally, I would love to see how various hardware combinations actually effect machine learning performance. When I'm searching for parts, it is impossible to find someone who does as thorough of a benchmarking process for ML as Linus does for gaming. You've got the resources, and you're reaching out to industry professionals, I really think you could make this happen, and be a pioneer in that space.
  3. Just looked up this trailer and I think we have a winner! I'm sure we'll try most of the responses here, but this one in particular I think will be good for us. Thanks!
  4. My wife and I want to try getting into gaming together. What are some good couch games to try? I'll be using a raspberry pi to stream from my PC to the TV. (steam link) ----------------------------------------------- Games We enjoyed: ----------------------------------------------- Us - Lovers in a Dangerous Space Time Us - Just Dance Me - Tomb Raider Me - Braid ----------------------- System: ----------------------- Intel 6700K gtx 1060 - 6gb 32 gb DDR3 Fedora 30 / Windows 10 dual boot I'll also need to get some controllers for us, if you have any recommendations for budget controllers.
