  1. The ram has a xmp profile with 1.35v. So I thought 1.35~1.38v shouldn't be too much for it to handle even though I overclocked my cpu. Ram being stable at 1.34v certainly surprised me. I'm also wondering if over heating vrm is the real culprit .
  2. I overclocked my cpu to reach a stable state first, then when enabling the xmp for the rams I encounter instability. Weirdly, increasing dram voltage(to 1.36~1.38) only makes it worse, but decreasing it to 1.34 actually makes it stable. Why is that? Does it have something to do with my vccio or vccsa settings? Any ideas?
  3. I overclocked my 9700k and am trying to then enable the xmp for the rams. After enabling xmp, I'm starting to get errors when running OCCT. After 2-3 min into the test, the number of errors starts climbing steadily every second which I think it's pretty weird. Memtest doesnt seem to produce any errors and running OCCT with xmp disabled and CPU overclocked does not produce errors though. OCCT just produces errors, not bsod or blackscreen
  4. Hi guys, I think I got it to work. Who would have thought the aorus pro z390 motherboard comes with a bios that doesnt support 9th gen CPU. I updated the bios to F10 (was F8), then everything works. Oh, lord.
  5. What's also weird is that i can use advanced options to boot from the usb in safe mode, then i would be able to starting installing windows, but during the process it asks for a restart, then after the restart the PC will just hang again. it seems things are working in safe mode but not in normal mode. Is it possible to restart into safe mode when the installation asks for a restart? Currently it just restarts to normal mode and then every thing hangs again.
  6. Not sure if it matters, but when I check the BIOS, the CPU VAXG is 0 volt, which shouldn't be right?
  7. I tried the windows media creation tool. The problem still persists. Please see my reply to the mod above. Thanks.
  8. Thanks for the help. I tried the windows media creation tool to create a usb installation drive directly, but the same issue persists when I choose the UEFI option. When not choosing the UEFI option the PC hangs at a different screen. https://imgur.com/a/BqxiCZE . Its the black background with blue windows logo screen.
  9. I'm making a new build and here is the list of components I'm using:motherboard: gigabyte z390 aorus pro cpu: 9700k cpu cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 280mmram: 16gbx1 Patriot Viper Steel Series 3200MHzssd: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB psu: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G+, 80 Plus Gold 750W, Fully ModularI haven't installed the gpu yet.I created a windows 10 installation usb drive through rufus using the GPT/UEFI setting. However, when choosing UEFI usb drive as the booting device the PC just hang at a black screen with the motherboard logo(as shown here:https://imgur.com/a/BqxiCZE)What is happening? I tried jumping the cmos of the mob and it didnt help. I switched between two rams sticks and neither of them is working. Help please.
  10. So this is the list of components I'm using: motherboard: gigabyte z390 aorus pro cpu: 9700k cpu cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 280mm ram: 16gbx1 Patriot Viper Steel Series 3200MHz ssd: ADATA XPG SX8200 Pro 1TB psu: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G+, 80 Plus Gold 750W, Fully Modular I haven't installed the gpu yet. So I bought a usb drive with windows 10 pro on it, and wanted to use it to install windows on my new build. The motherboard is recognizing the usb, and I'm able to choose it as the boot device. However, after selecting the usb as the boot device the computer just hangs at the black-background-with-windows-logo screen(as one of the attached images). So I tried multiple things and was able to actually get to the installation by booting from the usb in safe mode. After installation(as shown as the other attached image), it goes to restart the PC. However, after restarting the PC still just hangs at the black-background-with-windows-logo screen. What could be wrong? I heard it could be due to faulty ram. But switching between the two rams I have doesnt work either. Please help. I feel rekt.
