  1. That makes a lot of sense. I'll need to study costs and decide based on that, thanks! Hi Lord Elrond! Thanks for the reply! We actually generally use docker containers as a development environment. That being said, I would need to check how connecting to remote docker containers and working with graphical tools responds. I'd also need to study the possibilities that docker has regarding resource management if we have multiple GPUs, as I know you can allocate CPU cores and RAM to containers individually, but never tried allocating resources with multiple GPUs are present. Really helpful, I'll be sure to study this out. Thanks again for the replies
  2. Cost, convenience and ease of maintenance. Do you think it's easier to make multiple simpler machines instead?
  3. Budget (including currency): TBD Country: Argentina / USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 3-4 virtual machines to run an instance of Nvidia Isaac simulator each (listed requirements). Other details: - Buying from scratch Hi all! Kind of new to the forum, I'm looking for guidance and ideas on a build we are planning to do in my job. I'm not looking for a well defined system, but more for ideas and approaches I could take to tackle this. This is a project in it's super early planning stage. The idea is to build a workstation / server to enable developers to work remotely with Nvidia's Isaac robotics simulator (requirements linked above). What I had in mind was building upon an AMD Threadripper or Epyc platform and create 3-4 virtual machines for people to work at. I was planning on buying enough RAM, as well as one storage disk and one Nvidia Quadro per VM. The Quadro model is yet to be defined, but ideally we would go with an A5000 or A6000, and if not, a high end RTX card (3080 or more). I should also say that I'm not an expert when it comes to servers or workstations, so any opinions or suggestions are more than welcome. Is the approach I'm thinking of too far off? ps: We thought about cloud based solutions and actually tested AWS but found it was not nice to work in (ar least for the way we intend to use it)
  4. Yes, i am asking friend for a back up he has
  5. I would have tried fitting it but i am returning as soon as possible (tomorrow) so that they can send it to the USA and back here and have this matter solved. In the meantime i am really taking advantage of my free time studying for university.. so there is that
  6. Im returning it to the guys that imported it from the USA, so that the can change it for another one. The second image is just minor, i could bend the fins back. But if you look closely at the first one, you can see the whole structure bent, the cpu socket no even aligned with the towers. I could run it like this, but imagine paying the equivalent of 200 dollars for a cooler that is $90, and receiving this..
  7. I just want to share my bit of bad luck. My d5 pump broke about 3 weeks ago. Due to the fact that i am from Argentina and water cooling is non existant here and really expensive to import, i decided to buy a good air cooler. I went to "mercadolibre.com", kind of the ebay of latin america, and bought from some guys that import stuff from miami the be quiet! cooler. It took about 13 business days to arrive, and when i finally got it.. well, you can see for yourself. Tomorrow ill go and get a new one, that will probably take 2-3 weeks more. The weird thing is that the box is almost in perfect condition. Wish me luck, im trying really hard to not loose my nerves (i couldn't game since my pump broke).
  8. I bought it new a few year ago, and i opened it only once to see if there was any corrosion and do a clean up, always being carefull to not drop the propeller too hard.
  9. Hello! The pump does work perfectly, spins with no problem. That being said, the propeller is making contact with the side, which it shouldnt.
  10. Hello guys. Two days ago i was gaming in my computer when suddenly my pump started making a loud noise, as if the propeller was grinding on a side (spoiler alert, it was). I turned my computer off, took it apart and opened the pump, just to notice a clear sign of grinding on the "propeller" itself and the motor (see pic). My thoughts are that somehow, the propeller debalanced and that is why it is grinding. Any ideas on why? I never ran the pump dry, and havent got any problem with it. I also ran the sistem with destilled water, no sign of anythong nasty building up. Sorry for my english, and thanks.
