  1. Yeah thats what I did last time I tried it. Its just about any game.. But some worth noting, KOTOR 1 and 2, Silent hill 1-3, Mount and blade, Battlefront 1, Mechwarrior 2-4, AOE1, Populous: The Beginning, Gnome, dominion, Dark forces 2, quake 2 and 3. UT99, RE2. There are alot more, Mostly 90s and early 00s games, alot of dos games too. Most of the games I have use 16bit installers or get glitchy with newer OS's. They are all old CD copy's too.
  2. hitting F11 does not do anything to the CMD on my system. I'm on windows 7 BTW. Id have to use something other then the CMD to make it full screen. But I have ran full screen CLI in windows without the explorer before using a 3rd party CMD app that supports full screen under 7, it works grate up until I play a game and I close it out. the CMD is then minimized. That's what I need to stop. XP had the same problem when I ran the CMD full screen and 10 is not a option for me as it breaks support with most of the games I play.
  3. Wile most PSU will start without a fan this is a bad idea as it would die fast under a load. A better idea is to put a better fan in it or get a different PSU.
  4. Wile I agree with you for the most part. For my needs something like Norton commander and a CLI would be suffice for 90% of what I do. The only real problem is when I would close that game out and the CLI would not be in full screen. Everything else I do can be done in a CLI. I just need to find a way to keep the CLI, CMD, power shell or what ever I end up using to stay full screen when another full screen app is closed. Id switch to Linux, but I have a few games that just can't run in Linux.
  5. Yes you are right, the voodoo 2 and most multi gpu setups up until nvidia brought it back used AFR mode. Today you can still force AFR on dx 11 down to DX6.1 and openGL games and that works for 90+% of the time. I'm amazed that at lest 2 people here know how multi GPU setups work. almost everyone now a days says its dead and the game must support it.
  6. No it's cheating. Single player vs multi player makes no difference. A mod is not a cheat. It never has been. Oh? Ever tried logging off the server and trying a different one? Or setting up your own match? Also your name calling is uncalled for and not nessasry.
  7. Umm who in there right mind would call hacking a game to give you unlimited lives or invincibility a mod? That is down right cheating. I fail to see the difference. wall hacks, extra lives and so on is all part of the fun of playing games. If you don't like a cheater don't play with them. Simple as that.
  8. Sure, I don't see the problem with them. Cheats used to be a common thing built into most games. anyone recall game shark or Game Genie? Some games like rogue squadron had cheat menus built into the games. Some publishers even had cheat hot lines you could call and get cheats. Now its oddly a big no no and you get into trouble and band from playing a game if you want unlimited lives or skip a level.
  9. Honestly I don't know what inlet was thinking with x299. Id say no unless if you can get a really good deal on a top end CPU. Some boards are cheap but for a reason, like the x299 raider, its not a very good board. I would not pay anything over 75$ new for one. And this is coming form someone that had a x79 system and jumped to x299. I sold the x299 system and went back to my x79 setup and drooped in a xeon, second GPU and never looked back.
  10. I was able to call in about a year ago and get it activated. Wile on the phone they offered to text me a link to activat it online. it worked grate. Sorry I don't have the link anymore.
  11. No clue whats on Netflix , but maybe dark star? Its a John Carpenter and Dan O'Bannon film. Extremely low budget. the first 45minits had a 1k budget.
  12. So I been looking at some alternatives to explorer.exe and the GUI windows uses. I came accost BB4WIN witch is cool. But what about a full screen 24/7 CMD or dos prompt? I know that would be hard to use because the second you open a GUI app like say Firefox hows it suppose to work? But for a purely gaming PC that should not be a problem as most games open in full screen. Has anyone every played around with this idea? I'm guessing the simplest thing one can do is Kill the explorer.exe and run a full screen CMD app. But wouldn't it minimize the second you start a full screen app or GUI app? Anyone have any ideas on how to do this? Like in a way that keeps the CMD/dos terminal full screen or auto full screens it after closing a game or something? And a wya to alow GUI windowed apps to work over top of the full screen CLI?
  13. Exactly, at least someone knows how it works.
  14. How did the voodoo2 sli and multichrome work? or the rage fury or multi gpu ati 8xxx and 7xxx cards The voodoo2 came out in a time before the internet was like it is today and many games did not see too many if any patches. And multichrome was never main stream by a long shot but works with a lot of games. The fury and multi GPU 7xxx and 8xxx never saw much any support from game developers ether. So if everyone says that games need to support multi GPU sets how did all these setups work most of the time if they did not have game developers that supported them?
