  1. Hi, hardware involved is: Cooler Master MasterLiquid Lite 240 and MSI B760 motherboard. I am installing a new system and ran into this problem while installing the AIO. See attached pic, I am at this phase. The holes of the coolerblock are too big for the screws from the LGA1700 mounting kit that came separately with the cooler. They fit nice and snug in the bracket holes, but spin free in the holes of the coolerblock. I am at a loss because if I use different screws, they won't fit into the brackets and vice versa.
  2. It kinda is at the moment since we are experiencing a heat wave.
  3. This was actually helpful. Experimented with this and got some interesting results. First I used Ryzen Master to 'cap' the clock speed to 3800Mhz, temps never got over 65°C, great success. I then set CPU overclocking to manual in the bios (OC Tweaker) and set it to 3800Mhz max again. This time the PC started behaving weird, sometimes it would boot and all would be well, other times it would get stuck in a boot cycle and I was forced to reset the bios. I guess I'll have to experiment more to get stable results.
  4. Also no, I'm not getting a new cooler, the Mugen 5 should be more than enough. Judging by my tests, I don't think the cooler is the problem.
  5. Yeah I don't buy that. And I'm not going to put it in the case before everything checks out anyway. I don't 'insist' on having an open build, it's just how I assemble PCs, I make sure everything works as it should before I start putting it together inside the case.
  6. No case, it's an open build, as stated before.
  7. Again? I even tried different thermal pastes.
  8. Everthing is at stock values. Ive also updated the bios, no change. My other system is r5 2600 based, i have no issues with that one.
  9. @jaslion@BlueScope819@aisle9@Not Wills Just ran the same benchmark with stock cooler, temps shot straight up to 95°C. Not sure what to do at this point.
  10. Ambient temp is up to 30c (heatwave). , I will try stock cooler and report back
  11. Really? No, I used duct tape. Sorry, couldn't resist. Yes it's mounted properly. It's not in a case yet. Really? No overclocking.
  12. I just assembled a new build with the components listed below. I am a bit worried about the cpu temps: 36°-40°C on idle in Windows, 89° on full load (Cinebench). Obviously, the latter is the one that concerns me. I have already reapplied the thermal paste (arctic silver 5, new tube) and added an additional cooling fan on the Mugen's heatsink, creating a 'push & pull' airflow.
