  1. Hello everyone and thank for stopping by. I have a very specific question. Which monitor would you buy? The options: Asus VG248QZ 144hz 1ms Full HD (it is the cheap version of the Asus VG248QE which has Freesync, so this model would be as basic as it gets) Acer KG241 Pbmidpx 144hz 1ms Full HD Freesync (i have a Nvidia GTX 1060 so it will not be fully compatible with freesync since it is not oficially listed as G-Sync compatible) Both are the same price, so this wouldn't be a factor. Thank you.
  2. Hello everyone and thanks in advance for stopping by this thread. I am in the process of buying a new monitor since i want to experience 144fps and a better quality overall in my games. It anyone is interested to know, i am from Argentina, maybe this clarifies some things about prices listed here. PC specs: -CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x -RAM: 16GB 3200mhz -GPU:GTX 1060 6GB -Screen: Samsung Smart TV 40" 4K Display I am well aware that a giant tv is not the best for gaming, since i am mainly playing LoL(1080p) and CS:GO (1024x768 i think). Basically i want to play the same games but at a much higher refresh rate to try to improve in those games. I have heard that the high fps can help a lot, specially in CS:GO. I will not sell the TV to rise my budget, that is important. My first option is the Asus VG248QZ 144hz 1ms GTG 1080p monitor, i can get it for 400U$D (yes, it is expensive, every piece of hardware is where i live). I read plenty of reviews and there are mixed opinions about this monitor and i would like some more if you have. I would buy this monitor at a local shop with warranty and all. My second option is the Acer KG271 Cbmidpx 27" Full HD 1920x1080 144Hz 1ms but there are some things to consider, such as the provider. I would buy this monitor directly from NewEgg for 400U$D also but the problem is, that if the monitor has any problem at all, i would have to ship it back to USA and that is pretty expensive. I can get any monitor from NewEgg considering it's price, so if you have a better recommendation feel free to leave it in a comment down below please. You couldn't know it's final price but if it is as cheap as 170U$D i can give it a look. Thank you all very much again, and pardon me for my english if there is any typo.
  3. I just installed the 3700x in the Crosshair VI. I had to update the bios but luckily this MB has an option to do it with no other component than itself. That took 5 minutes top. Then, i went into the BIOS and set up the RAM speed to 3200mhz, no trouble at all with that. Everything is running as supposed to. If you want me to do a certain test or give you any kind of value, don't hesitate to ask for it!
  4. This is what i found while researching for a compatible motherboard, judge it by tourself. I can't give you my opinion since i have never used Asus MBs (used MSI for the last 5 years) and we are talking about high end ones here. Many people have told me they work great and few people told me otherwise (talking about the Crosshair VI Hero in particular), so i think the brand is a solid choice. But if the price breach is not high, i would go for the Extreme version. Can i ask you something? Where are you from? Because these MBs are on sale in my country too.
  5. I will test it out pretty much everyday since friday, and i will give you my conclussion. As far as i know, the Crosshair VI Hero is fully compatible with Ryzen 3000, and just like you, i won't be doing OC either...
  6. I bought myself a Asus Crosshair VI Hero but i am getting the Ryzen 3700x on friday if everything goes fine. If you are not in a hurry i can test whatever you want with that MB and send it to you. Let me know!
  7. I have an I7 2600k, it is an Intel CPU. Did you mean Ryzen 5 2600x or Intel I7 2600k? Mine would be a really older CPU than yours
  8. I found this when i was looking for a motherboard. Don't you think i will be fine? The Crosshair VI Hero is listed to be fully compatible.
  9. Could you link me to that info, please? As far as i looked for, the majority of x370 mobos can't handle Ryzen 3rd Gen, but the one i am going to get, is fully compatible. I will post the link when i find it again.
  10. But this motherboard is updated from factory according to the supplier. And if it is not, i can bring it to the shop and they will do it for free. The difference between this x370 and a x570 is double the price of the first one, aproximately 150usd. If i have any kind of problems with it, i will just return it.
  11. What kind of problems? I will search some info on that. Thanks for the heads up.
  12. What you need is a DVI-D Dual Link Cable and you should be able to run it at 144hz, it is the only way with that monitor, as i remember correctly, it is the non-P model that has no Display Port.
  13. I know, i will have to upgrade the gpu at some point as i have a 4k TV for a monitor (but i game at 1080p when the pc cannot push games to 4k or 1440p). I also know is not optimal, but monitor prices in my country are just too high, a monitor that costs 200usd (BenQ Zowie XL2411 144hz 1080p) in the US, costs 533usd in Argentina, my country. And my bedroom is small so i turn the TV to watch it from my bed. If i had a monitor, this would be a problem. Thanks for your response good sir.
  14. I thought about it, but wouldn't it bottleneck with my 2600k? It is @Stock because my motherboard fails to keep the OC config for more than a day, and no, it is not the CMOS battery. On top of that, i think i could use the extra cores and threads, and the new technologies aswell, it is an 8 years old CPU and i am feeling it's getting behind. I will upgrade the GPU, but not in the near future. Thanks for your response!
