  1. Hey guys! I do audio/podcast editing and I'm looking to buy a laptop to chuck around when I need to be mobile. I can live with a 60hz refresh rate, and the GPU is not a priority. I just want a machine with a nice enough processor (hopefully with 6 cores?) with a decent keyboard that's around the kilobuck range! Willing to stretch if the machine is worth it Thanks guys!
  2. Been having trouble with my PC. I installed new RAM and it got BSOD errors so I switched back to the old RAM and it became more stable but it still has some BSODs on me (attached) I'm running on Ryzen 5 2600 16GB RAM 2666 (Kingston. G Skill was the faulty RAM) Gigabyte B450m DS3h motherboard Seasonic Focus Gold 550w Asus GTX 1060 3GB (updated to latest Nvidia driver) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwfwkuVMB0Y
  3. SATA cables are seated well. Tried restarting and still nothing!
  4. I opened up Disk Management and it prompted me to Initialize Disk 0. I don't know if that's my HDD but it doesn't seem to appear in the Disk Management List. Is there anything of interest here? I'll try putting it on another port again and see
  5. Restarted and still no good. Still an Unknown Device. I can feel the drive spinning if that's any good news though. This is so frustrating!
  6. I'll try plugging it into a different SATA port. I'll turn my machine off and let you know how that goes. The SATA port I'm using is a new one that came with my board so it should be fine. I'll report back in a bit!
  7. Updated from Windows 7 Home to Win 10 using the Media Creation Tool process, upgraded from i5 4460 to a Ryzen 5 2600. Used a Patriot Blast as my boot drive. Everything went fine and I have my system running on Windows 10 no problem. Except that my secondary mechanical drive (WD Blue 500GB) suddenly stopped working. On Device Manager, it shows up as Unknown Device. I tried using the WD HDD program to no avail. It just passed both tests with no results. Is there a driver I have to install? Or is it incompatible with Win 10? I don't know which details I should give so please let me know!
  8. Would you have a config in mind, sir? I know I don't need that much GPU but I don't know how much I need, really
  9. Well, I do need to use RX and other plug-ins that eat CPU since I also mix songs. I, curiously do not use a mic. I also want faster render times since I edit podcasts everyday that are an hr or so long
  10. Budget (including currency): $800 or 40,000 Philippine Pesos Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Reaper for podcast editing and audio mixing, CS:GO and other esports titles, streaming gameplay to Discord for the homies Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I'm upgrading for a lowly H81M system, i5 4th gen. It's serving me well but I need less render times! I'm also using a 144hz monitor. Right now, my set-up runs at 120fps on CS:GO I'll be purchasing items from dynaquestpc.com pcx.com.ph
  11. My b. We'll most likely be looking for parts at https://dynaquestpc.com/ https://easypc.com.ph/
  12. Budget (including currency): $550 or about 28,000 Philippine Pesos Country: Philippines Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: mainly CS: GO, maybe some steam games, older AAA, newer AAA in low to med (mostly the new Tony Hawk game) Other details : this is for a friend who I've been playing CS:GO with. He's been playing on a potato laptop 60fps on low playing CS and he has to pre-load maps before we play. He's getting a hefty bonus and wants to get a decent gaming rig. Would prefer it the build can churn out 144hz
  13. 1.) Budget and Location Budget is around $800-1000. I live in the Philippines 2.) Aim I want to play Tekken 7 at 1080p max settings and mix audio with amp sims and Slate plug-ins (which enjoy core counts) 3.) Monitors I want to run just one monitor, 1080p. Not picky with refresh rates 4.) Peripherals I still need a decent set of mouse and keyboard and Windows
