  1. Yeah I meant the 2080 super vs 2070 super, my mistake. As for the case, I don't really care about getting smaller. I just really liked the way the h200 from nzxt looked on completed builds, I know it is quite a big itx case, but I think i will go with one of the H series from nzxt since going the smallest possible isn't my goal here. That nvme from crucial looks like a really good price, I'll probably go with that. As for the motherboard, I've heard that Gigabyte was kinda to avoid, is there any substance to that claim ? That motherboard looks like a good option too, thank you. On the watercooling, if I wanted to get cheaper I could also just run the amd cooler too, but I think my budget will allow me to indulge on a couple of stuff just for the look of it. On the NVME, would you say it is worth it to spend more to get a corsair or a samsung vs the less expensive crucial one ? I'm guessing I will probably not notice the difference if there's any On the GPU, I just want to make sure that I get the performance I need. I don't know yet which monitor I'm going to end up with, maybe the mpg341cqr from msi, or something with similar specs. So I want to be able to play at this resolution and around 120fps, else I'll just buy a less expensive monitor. And on the power supply you are both suggesting the same sfx one, and it's just 20 euros more expensive so seems like a no brainer Thank you for your answers!
  2. Hello everyone, I would like to get some advice before pulling the trigger. So, I'm getting a new pc because my current one is getting a bit old and because I would like to game on a 21:9 3440x1440 monitor at decent framerate on recent games. I'm from France, my budget is about 2k euros, quite flexible. So, first here's what I was thinking about : PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor (€364.10 @ TopAchat) CPU Cooler: Deepcool CAPTAIN 240EX RGB 153.04 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler (€139.89 @ TopAchat) Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX X470-I GAMING Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard (€235.90 @ LDLC) Memory: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (€245.90 @ LDLC) Storage: Samsung 970 Evo 1 TB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive (€179.99 @ Amazon France) Video Card: Asus GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER 8 GB DUAL EVO OC Video Card (€640.99 @ Amazon France) Case: NZXT H200 Mini ITX Tower Case (€83.99 @ Amazon France) Power Supply: SeaSonic FOCUS Plus Gold 550 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (€79.50 @ Amazon France) Total: €1970.26 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-07-24 13:15 CEST+0200 So, a few things 1 - I was thinking about going mini-itx because I like the h210 case from NZXT and I like the small form factor pcs. I do have the space for a mid-tower tho on my desk, I however don't think I would be using more than 1pcie slot, and I can get 32gb of RAM on two slots which is plenty. My only concern would be the thermals, I've seen gaming builds with itx cases and with an aio I'm guessing it should run fine. 2 - For the CPU I think a ryzen 3000 build is a good choice right now, I could go with a r5 3600 since the gaming performance looks the same, but I was thinking if I have the money for 2 additionnal cores, why not ? Hence the 3700x 3 - Motherboard, there is not a lot of choice here for itx form factor, I was thinking about the mini x470 strix because it has good reviews and wifi/bluetooth included, which i would like to have. 4 - For cooling, I looked up the deepcool's captain because I liked the looks of it, and it seems to have a nice performance. 5 - About the storage, I was going to get a SATA SSD at first, but since i could fit a NVME into my budget I was thinking it might help me get a cleaner look overall. 6 - The most important point, the graphic card. I'm not sure if I should go for a 2080 super or a 2070 super. I would like to play at 100+ fps at 3440x1440, I guess if I'm buying that sort of screen I should probably max out on the graphic card as well ? It would probably be safer to buy a 2080 than to risk buying an expensive monitor and not getting the full benefit from it. So here you go, these are my thoughts about it. It's worth to note that any money I don't spend on this computer I could save toward a better chair, better audio or something else. I'm having hesitations toward the mini-itx vs atx, the r5 3600 vs r7 3700x, and the rtx 2070 super vs rtx 2080 super. So, what do you think ? Thank you for your advice and have a great day !
