  1. Hello, I'm hoping someone can educate me on a few things and help me figure out what's going on with my 2 PCs. If you think I bought crap products, please know that these have already been purchased and cannot be returned due to preference... I built a PC 1-2 yrs ago with a Corsair H55 120mm AIO cooler on it; runs quiet, cpu temps have always been fine. I recently built a brand new gaming PC (current one will become streaming PC) but this new build is VERY loud. I've never touched fan speeds or BIOS settings but this time I decided to take a look. I'm hoping you can see below and help me out! New Build: Gaming PC It has 2 case fans and a 240mm Corsair H100x AIO cooler BIOS Default Fan Speeds CPU_FAN = 4000 RPM PUMP_FAN = 1700 RPM SYS_FAN 1 = 1000 RPM SYS_FAN 2 = 1000 RPM Total of 7700 RPM for this PC *while idle*. I haven't tested gaming yet because this was immediately apparent with how loud the PC is. Current PC (will become Stream PC): It has 2 case fans and a 120mm Corsair H55 AIO cooler BIOS Default Fan Speeds CPU_FAN = 1800 RPM PUMP_FAN = 0/undetected SYS_FAN 1 = 0/undetected (odd b/c I have 2 case fans) SYS_FAN 2 = 0/undetected (odd b/c I have 2 case fans) Total of 1800 RPM while idle. This led me in to a ton of questions: What is "CPU Fan" vs "Pump Fan" in the BIOS? It it due to the fact the 240mm AIO has 2 fans and the BIOS calls 1 of them "CPU Fan" and the 2nd one "Pump Fan" ? If the above is correct, then notice my current PC has a 120mm AIO cooler + 2 case fans yet its BIOS only identifies 1 fan. Is it calling the AIO fan the "CPU Fan" then saying Pump Fan is 0 because it's a 120mm AIO and doesn't have a 2nd one? Similarly, on my current PC, the case fans seem to just be "on of off" using a button on the top of the case; maybe that's why its BIOS doesn't recognize those? On the new PC, the CPU Fan is on "PWM" with "Smart Control ON" running at 4000 RPM while idle. This seems crazy is it not? On the new PC, the Pump Fan is on "PWM" and "Smart Control OFF" - I've read online that Pump fans need to be at 100% so I left Smart Control off, but should I switch it to DC instead of PWM or is this a dumb question? Assuming case fans are always "Sys Fan" in the BIOS, unlike my current PC, my new PC recognizes them both and surprisingly I'm able to switch them to "Smart Control ON" which brings them down from 1000 to about 900. That should be fine right? Is it possible I've just mixed up plugging in all my stuff? Anyways, thanks to anyone who goes through this, I really appreciate your time and consideration Castle
