We have a PSU with one 8pin PCIe connector. We also have a gpu (r9 280x) that has 2x8 pin connectors. From my new PSU we got a spare perfiferals cable (2 molexes and 1 connector that looks like 6pin PCIe but 2 pins there are empty. Photo is attached.) The question is: Can we possibly connect one of the molex connectors to molex(male) of the PSU and then connect the "fake" 6 pin to the GPU? I know it sounds stupid, but we wanted to ask before we blow our house up...
Or do you have any other suggestions? We can use two PSUs, I have some spare ones, but we thought this would look more "clean".
We searched the Internet but didn't find anything relevant...
