Hey all,
I just want to let you all know to look out when buying the new Ryzen chips on amazon.
There are people selling the chips on the official product page where it is listed as from "Amd" at £180 a reasonable price, while this may seem fine as it is being sold on the official page and the sellers have multiple positive reviews as well as being active accounts they are scams, some people may not even realize that they are not buying from Amazon themselves.
The product will appear to be shipping and all the details on the Amazon track my order tab will update however you will not receive the product and it will appear delivered when it is not, I can only assume that the seller sends an empty package to a different address so the order appears to go through and the seller receives his money and transfers it before Amazon can stop them.
If you now check the rating of the account you will see that they have been given 1 star reviews in the last week around 50 times as someone has bought or accessed an account which was a genuine one and used it for malicious purposes during prime week where many people are buying high-value technology making it an easy cash grab.
Amazon will send a full refund to any buyer who has been scammed but just make sure that you are not passed the point where a refund is unavailable, this may also cost you a lot of time as you will be made to wait 2 weeks for the processor to be "delivered".
I would recommend buying your electronics from Amazon themselves or on any reputable dealer website.
Thanks a lot, Elliot
TLDR; Don't buy a Ryzen processor on Amazon unless it is from Amazon or Amd themselves.
