  1. So, weird thing - I got home, USB stick in hand and ready to boot up. When I turned on my PC ,it booted straight into Windows (from the reinstall, so a lot of updates. Jesus, a lot of updates). Now it seems to be running smoothly and I'm having no errors. Should I take this as windows was just super corrupt and took a hell of a beating to fix, or should I consider my m.2 compromised and still consider a replacement? It's 3 years old so hardly at death's door (Thanks for the earlier advice)
  2. Long time watcher, first time poster! I can't figure out if my issue is hardware or software, but I feel it's the hardware: Prior to this, my mouse was intermittently not working, and I assumed it was a driver issue that I was trying to solve, but I believe it's probably the first symptom. I have/had Win10 installed on an m.2 that last night just stopped working, the motherboard would post (mostly) but wasn't able to even get to login. After resetting the CMOS I managed to get to the repair menu, and when nothing else worked I went for a fresh install of Win10. That failed first time, but succeeded after using my install disc. As I was reinstalling drivers, the screen suddenly turned black and again it's failed. I'm now unsure if perhaps the graphics driver has failed and so I can't see the install that is working (I only have one monitor to test with, but I tried on both my motherboard port and my GPU, GTX 960, and neither worked) and after a restart I'm back to square one. So my vague ideas of the issue is: Something is wrong with my SSD and it need replacing Something is wrong with my drivers Something is wrong with my CMOS battery and it's not keeping the data Something is wrong with my motherboard or processor and I'm about to have to spend a fortune Win10 64bit Kingston Fury Black 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 2400MHz Samsung SM951 128GB M.2 Gen3 8Gbps Seagate 1TB 7200RPM SATA 6Gb/s HDD Super Flower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" PSU MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4096MB CPU is Intel Core i5-6600K Motherboard is Gigabyte Z170 K3 Any help/advice would be appreciated!
