  1. B450M Mortar 3900X 3200 CL14-14-14 Crucial Ballistix ram 2x16GB working flawlessly - i can recommend the Mortar 100%.... Got a M.2 970 1TB Evo Plus running along with a M.2 1TB 850, and it even has an USB-C port for my Pocophone F1 is this the best bang for buck board on the market considering the features? No WiFi/BT + bad audio, but I use a soundcard anyways... 100 dollar mobo with 580 USD CPU, lul!
  2. Concise and to the point. Thank you, haha! I will just go ahead and order now.... wish me luck on the silicon lottery!
  3. The thing is though, the Mortar is 20 bucks cheaper than the Tomahawk, and the B450 Carbon is 35-42ish bucks more expensive than the Tomahawk. So price wise, the Mortar seems to make more sense right? watching buildzoids video atm on the Mortar and he says manual OC 2700 should be fine on this, so it seems like its fine, ahh my brain
  4. Damnit. I just saw the B450 Mortar.. it has two M.2 ports which I really like the idea of. Would the Mortar be be a lot worse than the Tomahawk in terms of VRM, i still see tons of people overclocking their 2700X to 4.x GHz so it should work, right? I will never ever use an APU so the lack of SOC vrm heatsinks is really no problem
  5. Sounds fair enough yeah. I think I'll just go with the Tomahawk B450 and try my luck. If I can reach the same OC's as other people then whatever, right? Thanks for the help!
  6. so you would say the Tomahawk or the ITX board is better for the 3900X for oc'ing to the CPU's limits? The Tomahawk does look better in terms of features for me at least, expansion slots for sound card etc If we completely ignore VRM temps (i can solve any temp issues fairly easily with a custom cut copper block for a dollar or two) or adding a fan i guess
  7. I narrowed down my search a little bit.. stumbled upon this thread. Got my research kinda verified! I was looking at the b450 Tomahawk but it seems like the B450I Gaming Plus is better in the VRM department. Which board would be the most viable for a 3900X overclock? Which board in this price range would beat the B450I Gaming Plus? (a small handful of people have told me that B450 Tomahawk wont be anywhere near good enough for the 3900X oc'd)
