  2. UPDATE: I, finally, bought the Dell P2415Q UHD 4K monitor. It’s everything I ever wanted from a monitor: incredible image quality, sharpness, brightness, and beautiful colours, completed by an exceptional monitor stand. I recommend this one!
  3. Yeah. Basically, when I started looking for a monitor, I didn’t really knew what to look at. I just wanted to replace my old 18.5” DVI-D connection monitor with one that will have good contrast, clarity, brightness and colours. But I thought that those parameters are being influenced by response time and refresh rate too. Later I found out that cd/m2, high resolutions and PPI density deliver those sharp images.
  4. Yeah, some details will be too small in 4K, but at 2560x1440 @60Hz I should have very clear looking images on my screen.
  5. My use case is generally music production, web browsing and media... Yes, I’ll probably use it at 2560x1440 @60Hz resolution.
  6. Thanks man! You opened my eyes about this resolution thing. Prior to our discussion, I had no idea that a 24” monitor can have a higher resolution than 1920x1080. The monitor that I want to buy now is this one: Dell 24 Ultra HD 4K Monitor - P2415Q (23.8”, 16:9, 3840x2160 @60Hz, 10-bit panel, 185.12 PPI, 300cd/m2, Colour support 1.07 billion).

  8. You mean a 27” monitor? Because I like it smaller. 24.5” is ideal for me. (My current monitor is just 18.5”)
  9. Hello guys! Which monitor would you choose between these two: Asus TUF VG259QM vs. Dell Alienware AW2521HF? Both have flat, IPS, 24” panels, 1ms response time, 240Hz refresh rate (Asus can be overclocked to 280Hz). Did any of you have experience with these monitors?
  10. Hello! My motherboard is Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master, and my CPU is Intel Core i7-9700K. My PCIe lanes are gen 3.0 x16. Question: Would my system bottleneck my GPU if I’d buy this GPU: Gigabyte Aorus AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT (GV-R57XTAORUS-8GD), which has PCIe 4.0 x16 connection?

  12. Hello! My graphics card is Palit GeForce GT 640 1GB, and it should normally run at PCIe 3.0 x16, but when I look into BIOS it says: PCIe 3.0 x16 @ PCIe 1.0 x16. In Windows 10, GPU-Z says: PCIe x16 3.0 @ PCIe x16 1.1. My PC: 1. Motherboard: Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master (Latest BIOS version: F11c) 2. CPU: Intel i7-9700K 3. 32GB DDR4-2666 Is there a way to make it run at PCIe 3.0 x16?
  13. Hello! I’ve learned something new today about ImDisk program. It has an option to allocate memory dynamically. So with other words, after assigning a size for the RAMDisk partition (8GB for example), the PC won’t keep all of that memory amount unavailable for the system. The only amount unavailable for the system will be the amount of occupied space located on the RAMDisk partition. https://www.ghacks.net/2014/01/26/create-dynamic-ramdisk-imdisk-toolkit/
  14. I know that your advice is theoretically the safest, but I’ll keep using the RAM solely because: 1. It’s faster; 2. I’ll wear out my SSD less; 3. Linus keeps the same setting; 4. I never had errors or issues... so far But thanks anyway.
  15. I’ve set my Paging File to “None”, meaning 0 MB (Linus’s advice), so it always uses the RAM.
  16. Yeah. So with other words, making a RAMDisk partition leads to having less memory available for system usage. I thought it will take that amount only when the RAMDisk partition will be full.
  17. After restart, I opened Task Manager and these are the infos: In use = 10.2GB (0 MB) Available = 21.7GB
  18. Hello! My PC has 32GB DDR4. I created an 8GB RAMDisk partition using ImDisk program. I use this partition for temporary files. Question: By having this partition, am I left constantly with only 24GB RAM for system usage?
  19. I’d take the advice of Mick Naughty and buy the i9-9900K, or even i9-9900KS, (if you can afford that, of course...)
  20. I had to make the same choice 1 year ago, between i7-8700K and i7-9700K. I chose i7-9700K, and I don’t regret it! The i7-9700K has more “muscles”, it stays cooler, and it works better in games.

  23. Hello! I recently discovered that there are 2 types of boards: 1: Daisy Chain & 2: T-Topology. From what I’ve heard, the daisy chain type works better with 2 memory modules, while the t-topology works better with 4 memory modules. Some say on the internet that the Z390 Aorus Master is T-Topology type. I couldn’t find a good link on this subject for this particular board. I use my PC as a workstation for music production. I don’t enable memory XMP (it’s a PnP type anyway). To me, it’s not so important to run memory at super speed, because I’m not a gamer. But I do need to move around large audio files, so I’d like to increase my memory size from 32GB to 64GB. Questions: 1. Is Z390 Aorus Master a t-topology type? 2. Is there a way to check if it’s a t-topology or a daisy chain type? 3. Is there something else that I should know?
  24. Hello! The manual of Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master, at page 69 states that RAID configurations between M.2 PCIe SSDs aren’t possible! That it’s only possible between M.2-SATA and SATA drives! But on the Gigabyte official site, at Key Features/ Aorus Performance/ they advertize 32Gb/s speed using a triple M.2 PCIe NVMe RAID-0 configuration! https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-MASTER-rev-10#kf Did anyone try to make a RAID configuration with 2 or 3 M.2 PCIe NVMe drives?
