Sorry for the lack of responses but I finally figured it out, all the games I was having problems with had ray tracing on and once I turned it off I started seeing wayyyyyyyy better frame rates

My Nvidia control panel doesn't show the option to setup G-sync so I assume it's enabled. Any way I can check?

I just built my second rig (my first one was super budget oriented it was like $500 for the entire setup) so i'm pretty new to more modern builds. I recently splurged and built a much better pc for work and gaming but it's not preforming as I had hoped. I have an intel i7-9700k, 16gb of G Skill Trident Z memory, a gigabyte windforce 2070, an Asus Prime Z390 motherboard and the rest spec'd similarly. I'm getting about 65fps on forza horizon 4 1440p ultra settings which is leagues ahead of the 30fps 720p low settings I was getting with my old rig, but i'm seeing youtube videos of people with the same card (same model-gigabyte windforce) with worse components get better results under the same conditions. As much as 20fps higher in several games. If someone can help i'd appreciate it
