  1. Hi @Leanora, 1. Unfortunately, it will be a tough 1 month for sure if I had to do it that way. 2. definitely will check that out. 3. People are selling i7-7700k new unopened for $400 on kijiji.ca (which is rippoff IMHO) but I think $150+ for mine used should be doable. Thanks.
  2. Hi @Falkentyne, Thanks for the thoughts. Unfortunately, I do not have any other machine to test this on. I only have a laptop which I am using right now to chat with you all (Dell 7559 i7-6700HQ | 16GB DDR3 | GeForce 960M). I am going to Canada Computers here (Its like Micro Center in USA) today and see if they will help me diagnose this. The reason I do not feel inclined to spend money on debugging is because I could use that money to buy new stuff/replacement board anyhow as i7-7700K is a bit old now. Last I asked them, they want to charge $50 to even diagnose the board(no results guaranteed) and I might just get a replacement board for like $100-$150 so putting $50 does not make sense as it is old. (ex.- https://www.amazon.ca/ASRock-B250M-HDV-LGA1151-MicroATX-Motherboard/dp/B01N9BY912/) I do realize the money and effort needed with no results guaranteed in RMA process, with ridiculous amount of time that I would have to wait. I do have approved RMA request that can be utilized in 30 days, as I trust this community I have come here asking for advice before I do that. Also, Amazon Prime day is July 15-16. That might be worth the wait. I hope you understand the situation. Thanks!
  3. Hey @Polargirl, Thanks for your thoughts. Yes I understand your points here. Unfortunately, I do not have any other machine to test this on. I only have a laptop which I am using right now to chat with you all (Dell 7559 i7-6700HQ | 16GB DDR3 | GeForce 960M). However, I am going to Canada Computers here (Its like Micro Center in USA) today and see if they will help me diagnose this. As Promised, I removed the CPU today and the board does not boot or beep when CPU is removed. Then I reseated the CPU and BIOS bootloops again just as in video I shared. I will try to see if I can get a under $100 MoBo for this CPU today on stores/ebay/craigslist etc. if not then I wiil probably go for the option #3 everyone has suggested and also makes sense to me as well. Thanks for your wonderful help and effort. Will keep you all posted. Cheers!
  4. Hey @Leanora, Thanks for these, unfortunately this is not working in my case. I tried it profusely for about 30mins. I even tried the alt+F12/F10 trick mentioned in the same thread that you linked to. None of those work for me. Thanks for the help and effort. I am still curious about your thoughts on the scenario that considering if the board is messed up, what other option out of the 3 would be your pick from my first Original Post? - Should I spend on shipping for RMA the board? - I live in Toronto, Canada and sending the board to Gigabyte California costs about $50 (yes we have to pay for one way shipping and customs etc. even with warranty) Also I will have downtime of about a month in the whole process. Also, this does not guarantee they will fix it (I called them to ask this). which makes me wonder about the next option below- - Should I buy another board and spend money there? - please suggest some boards, as I am unable to find stuff below $200-$300 which makes me think about the next point? - Should I look towards new Ryzen series and buy CPU+MoBo? - would I be able to get some money for my i7-7700k on ebay or Kijiji? Cheers!
  5. Hey @Polargirl, Thanks for the time and effort. So, actually what you have touched upon is only thing I have not tried and yes it was a conscious decision. I have not tried removing the CPU and reseating it. Part of the reason is that it was working fine before it messed up and secondly because the BIOS actually identifies the correct CPU. I believe that this board would not boot up without CPU, although some others do. I can surely try this as a last resort before I finally give in to the fact that MoBo died on me. But curious about your thoughts on the scenario that the board is messed, what other option out of the 3 would you pick from my first Original Post? - Should I spend on shipping for RMA the board? - I live in Toronto, Canada and sending the board to Gigabyte California costs about $50 (yes we have to pay for one way shipping and customs etc. even with warranty) Also I will have downtime of about a month in the whole process. 6. Hi @_Syn_, Yes, I have created and checked the USB on my Laptop it works fine. Also earlier when the system was working fine and when there was no boot device it would say something like "No boot device found. Please insert a bootable drive.Press Ctrl Alt Del to restart". I feel I am out of luck here. But in the scenario that the board is messed up as you said, what other option out of the 3 would you pick from my first Original Post? Thanks.
  7. HI Polargirl, Thanks for your chiming in with your thoughts. Really Appreciate the effort from all of you. In the video I have shown that there is nothing else attached to the PC as requested by @_Syn_ and there is only Windows Install USB Key and Logitech USB for Keyboard and Mouse. I have shown the actual codes that come on the MoBo LED ending on A2 when it resets and I have also shown the screen to show how it all looks. I also show that the CPU and Memory is correctly shown in BOIS as well as the USB boot drive is detected. I did reset the BIOS to optimized defaults just to let everyone know I tried that already. I have tried resetting the bios by CMOS jumper, tried the setting defaults (as shown in video as well) and also flashed the bios a bunch of times. played with all the settings(e.g. UEFI vs Legacy boot etc.) and I am still clueless. I was able to overclock from BIOS stable successfully upto 5Ghz with XMP profile 1 for RAM for the past 2 years. This is the Intel Utility which messed it all up. - https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24075/Intel-Extreme-Tuning-Utility-Intel-XTU- I am aware that the MoBo has dual BOIS, but I can't seem to find the jumpers to force secondary bios in the manual. Here is the link to Manual - http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-z270x-gaming-k7_e.pdf From what I understand the secondary BIOS takes over when it sees that the computer is not booting off primary bios. Maybe this can help you provide me some more options. Cheers!
  8. Hi @_Syn_ Here is the link to video I uploaded on OneDrive - https://1drv.ms/v/s!AiEYIy4KRL8VnRWLPWOhDGj9v-G_?e=T2dln2 Please let me know your thoughts.
  9. Yes, I am aware that this has Dual BIOS but I have not been able to switch between them. If you can point me to instructions I would appreciate that. From my understanding the MoBo switches between the BIOS when it feels the need to. Thanks!
  10. Sure give me a few minutes I will upload a video.
  11. Before I applied for RMA I spent a whole night in panic doing this. I unplugged everything, also switched RAM, flashed BIOS removed drives.... nothing works, it does not even boot from USB key. Though I can flash bios from USB. Q-Flash(Gigabyte fancy term) can read the USB fine, I see all the contents. Once the BIOS goes past POST and handovers to UEFI I believe that part is screwed.
  12. Thanks for your thoughts on this, very much appreciated. - Yeah I am thinking about new Ryzen stuff to be honest, it is ridiculous the RMA process is that bad for us here. - I believe the AM4 bracket came in the box, I will look for sure thanks. Also, 3600 comes with stock cooler I believe if nothing works. - Trust me brother, I was OC-ing with BIOS for past 2 years when 7700K was released, what happened was I formatted windows because you know it getts shitty like that in a couple of weeks and Intel Tuning Utility came up somehow and I thought that was a good idea. ?. Only if I knew. Thanks for your input, much appreciated.
  13. Thanks for that Gaelico1322, I have looked at that motherboard and that it too expensive for a 2 year old build. I feel that I can easily get new gen stuff in that money. This is the canadian link (I live in Toronto ) https://www.amazon.ca/ROG-Maximus-IX-Apex-Motherboard/dp/B01N247D6O/ref=sr_1_1 But thanks for your efforts man. Appreciated.
  14. Hi Guys, I really appreciate this community and would be grateful for all your help. My Gigabyte Aorus GA-z270x Gaming K7 motherboard just died on me while tinkering with OC with Intel overclock utility ? on i7-7700k. It basically goes into boot-loop after BIOS initialization. I am able to get into bios and re-flashed a bunch of times. last code on LED is A2 which means "Detect and install all currently connected IDE devices"(as per http://forum.gigabyte.us/post/1867/thread ) I am in a bit of a predicament as: - Should I spend on shipping for RMA the board? - I live in Toronto, Canada and sending the board to Gigabyte California costs about $50 (yes we have to pay for one way shipping and customs etc. even with warranty) Also I will have downtime of about a month in the whole process. which makes me wonder about the next option - Should I buy another board and spend money there? - please suggest some boards, as I am unable to find stuff below $200-$300 which makes me think about the next point? - Should I look towards new Ryzen series and buy CPU+MoBo? - would I be able to get some money for my i7-7700k on ebay or Kijiji? I manly use the computer for Lightroom CC, Photoshop, Premiere Pro. and very light gaming just to relax CS: GO and DOTA 2. Also, the other parts of my current build that I plan to keep using are: - NZXT - Kraken X52 Liquid CPU Cooler - (G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory) X 2 = 32GB - Samsung - 960 Pro 512GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive - EVGA - GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11 GB FTW3 ELITE GAMING WHITE Video Card - Corsair - Crystal 570X ATX Mid Tower Case - Corsair - 1000 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Please help!!! Cheers! -tech__geek
