  1. Hello there, I live in South Africa in the middle of nowhere and rely off of wirless radio internet to get any form of outside world connection. I recently switched suppliers for a better line. And they're claiming I have a faulty dish So I have a 30dBm dish, Connecting to a tower of theirs not too far, there was trees in the way but we cleared it up. The signal statistics are as follows Tx/Rx Signal Strength -65/50 dBm (average) Tx/Rx Signal Strength channel 0 -70/50 dBm Tx/Rx Signal Strength channel 1 -60/50 dBm Originally they stated that the signal was too strong, so they slightly detuned my radio so that signal wouldn't bounce back from the tower, slowly the connection has been made better, but im still getting latency spikes with no usage down the line. Or when 6mbps is being using out of 15mbps (max bandwidth) im getting latency spikes of nearly 300-500ms. And on idle there is the occasional spike of 300-500ms. I've been running latency tests and trace routes and all the spikes are within their network, they've tuned and realigned the dish and i've spent alot of money on parts and labor. Now the last they're pushing is saying my Radio is Faulty and may need to be replace. However, im only experiencing the latency spikes during peak times of around 5pm - 11pm, then some jitter from 6am - 5pm. During early morning hours 12am - 6am. There is near to no problems. But they're pushing that my dish/radio is faulty. Are they taking me for a ride? or are they being genuine that even though I have no problems in the morning but alot at night, it could still be my radio?
  2. Hello, im not too certain how or when a pc needs to use its full clock speeds but Im running a Ryzen 7 3800x which has a max of 4.5GHZ however when I go into Ryzen master and run a stress test my CPU usage spikes to 100% for the test but my clock speed only goes as high as 4.2ghz, is this normal or is there a problem here Full Specs Ryzen 7 3800x (Stock non overclocked) GTX 1070ti 16 gb 3600mhz RAM 650W gold PSU Asus Strix b450 mother board
  3. I want to sell it quickly thought an as a hole is the best way to do that. Shipping, driving and time alone would probably cost more than the little extra I get for individual parts
  4. Hello there, I've recently upgraded the majority of my pc, i've been upgrading it over the past 3 years and saving the old parts. I've now got a whole (2014-2015) budget gaming pc lying in pieces I've done some research and some calculations on parts depreciating and how much other second hand parts are selling for and the below build i've calculated to be sell-able between the prices of $400-$500 but I would like some second, third and forth opinions. I know I could just post it for these prices but I want to get it sold pretty quick so I don't really want to waste time with reposting and changes prices. Parts and how long they were used for Antec 380W gold PSU (Spare PSU I found. Will run and let the system operate under medium load but I'm going to have to under volt the GPU otherwise it won't produce enough power on the peak usage) Gigabyte Z97MX - Gaming 5 (Used 3 years) 12gb ddr3 Hyperx Fury RAM 1600mhz (Used 3 years) Intel i5-4690 (4 cores, 3.8GHZ turbo) Used 3 years) Cooler Master Hyper 212 After market CPU cooler (Used 6 months) 7.2k RPM Seagate Baracude 500gb HDD (Boot Drive) Used 2 years Cooler Master Haf Case (excluding window) Asus Strix GTX 960 OC 2gb (used 2 years NO OVERCLOCKING) All the above parts were used for casual gaming within their respected usage For the amount they were used the lowest someone suggested was $400 and the highest was $500 others say between those 2 prices are perfect. Would be nice to know thanks
  5. No it is not running at all. The application doesn't appear. it is not present on the other desktops, and it doens't appear in the resource manager that my VPS provides. It may be that im running it off a Root user. I reinstalled it and ran it off the terminal and got a no sanbox supported error
  6. So im new to Linux based software and i've now rented a server to run certain applications off of. I know everything on linux servers or VPS's can be done via the Terminal or FTP but i much prefer desktop environments. So i installed the Xrdp desktop application with the XFCE interface. I've connected to my remote desktop and it works fine. So now i've used this guide here. Google Chrome centos 7 install guide and it seems to have worked, Chrome appears on the application list and browser section however when i launch it or execute it. Nothing happens. I wanted to know if its maybe the desktop environment i've chosen or if its something else?
  7. So my base system is MSI Z97 chipset motherboard intel i5 4600 (3.6 - 3.8ghz) 4 core 12gb DDR3 RAM GTX 960 2gb ---> upgrade to a GTX 1070TI 650 W PSU No im looking to upgrade from ddr3 and L1150 Socket to a DDR4 setup and either a Coffee Lake L1151 or Am4 socket So i live in south africa and the best parts for price and performance currently is MSI tomahawk B450 chipset motherboard Ryzen 5 3600x 16gb 3200mhz ddr4 ram ^ Now i believe those specs are a good upgrade for the price. The one thing im worried about is ive been running the same 650w psu for 4-5 years now is it worth getting a new one or is a Corsair vs650 perfectly fine. any other recommendations for parts would be nice.
  8. Mine does support it, I did enable and set it up in QOS but its just not working. i set it to limit IP 192.168.0.100 to IP 192.168.0.100 and set it to limit 128kb/ps download. But when I run a speed test on the device with that IP it pulls the full bandwidth instead of only 1mbps.
  9. Hello I'm trying to setup bandwidth control on my network to limit the amount of download usage a computer in my network can pull. However my network is a bit different to other networks. I have wirless internet so I have a dish on my roof that runs through POE to a Router which then distrubutes Via WIFI. The routers IP address is 192.168.0.250 and the dishes IP address is 192.168.0.1 The dish its self I have no access to. I have full control over my router which has DHCP Server, Static IP assignment, Static Routing, Bandiwidth and URL control capabilities. I'm using my phone as test. I've assigned a static ip (192.168.0.100) to my phone using its Mac address, i then navigate to bandwidth control and limit the speed to 128kb/ps (1mbps) I then save settings, reconnect my phone and run a speed test but its pulling the full bandwidth, I even try forbidding a domain but then the phone can still access it. I've tried restarting the router with these settings and it still doesn't work. Im thinking I need to set up static routing since there is technically 2 routers (The dish and actual router) but im not sure how to get this to work basically the traffic from my phone would be 192.168.0.100 (The phone) --> 192.168.0.250 (The router) --> 192.168.0.1 (The dish) --> The internet im not sure if I need access to the dishes config page or if I can just limit the bandwidth using the router as the gateway. Im also not sure if I need to enable the DHCP server on my router however I've done this in the past and it's caused IP conflicts. I could just set the ips as static but again not sure if this will work. i've attached 3 images, the static routing page of my router, the dhcp client list (where we set static ips ) and the dhcp server which im not sure if it needs to be on)
