I do have one pro tip. While Folding can "kill a laptop" it does perfectly fine if you go downclock your cpu. The fastests way to do that is under the advanced settings for power management and simply turning down your "max power" to the lowest number that the machine runs cool at (for me that is around 70% a 9850h with 2070 max q machine). Pro-tip 2, this trick doesn't work if your performance slider is set to "best performance" it works on the middle setting (I think) and it works on the left setting (best battery). In case you didn't know, this trick combined with lowering your screen refresh rate to 60hz and brightness to 70% are also the fastest two paths to extending battery life when unplugged as well). Also I can confirm that home built PC...large cube cases with direct front to back airflow like the Corsair 540 and dual radiator Noctua CPU coolers run amazing. I can also confirm that using a razor core with an external (Egpu) works amazing on things like laptops and all in one PCs if you just want to run an old video card (I think a lot of us have old video cards lying around that we just never sold) but want to put almost zero stress on the laptop or all in one.

Just takes time. If you are on wi-fi make sure you are connected. Otherwise ignore it and it will get WUs eventually.

Long time viewer, first time poster. Signed up a bit ago. Current score is around 12,548,717 3800x overclocked (Active) 5700xt overclocked (Active) 32G PC 3600 Running 24x7 high priority, only pausing to play a bit of Doom Eternity in the evenings....system shows zero slow down for surfing, youtube, news, email and general use even on high priority. Quick question, I also have a 6 core laptop with a 9750H and a 2070 Max Q. What is the harm on a laptop in having it run 24x7 with the fans blasting (I assume shortened lifespan but by how much)?
