I'm not sure I can do anything about this issue apart from turning down my graphics settings or playing at less than 4K... but let's ask the question.
These are my system specs:
Windows 10 64 bit | Intel i5-9600k OC 5 GHz | RTX 2080 |VENGEANCE® LPX 32GB DDR 4 OC 3200
The system was built purely to run flight sims, predominantly DCS world by Eagle Dynamics. When trying to play at 4K resolution with all settings to high or max in a graphics intensive environment such as the Gulf Map I'm getting between 30 and 57 fps with an average of around 40. My CPU load (across all cores) barely rises above 30% while the GPU is above 90% most of the time. The GPU appears to be the bottleneck and is limiting performance in game. Now, I have a 4K TV with a refresh rate of 60 hertz, so the max I'm going to see with vsync is 60 fps, I can switch vsync on in the game's settings or control it from the NVidia settings app, I've tried setting Off, on, and max available but this doesn't appear to have any radical effect. It's disappointing that the RTX 2080 doesn't appear to give good 4K framerates in this game, any tips on how I can optimize settings?
