Hey!
Last Saturday I bought a brand new Sapphire Vega 56 Pulse 8GB graphics card. After installing it I ran into a problem - sometimes (every 2-3rd time), when Windows was loading, my screen would go completely black and monitor shows NO SIGNAL, and in the same moment, my GPU fans go crazy, (spinning at 100%). I couldnt do anything but restart my PC using a button on the case. I thought it was related to my Windows being old and neglected already (havent reinstalled system for like 4 years, didnt properly erase AMD drivers before installing the card), so I decided to fully reinstall Windows (I did a full format:c), reinstalled Windows, installed new AMD drivers, everything was fine for five days, I played Metro Exodus and Wreckfest for many hours and it was ok, card was behaving very good, low temps, low power usage.
Today I bought Shadow of the Tomb Raider on Steam. I downloaded the game, set some settings, press Play... and same thing happens - fans go 100%, monitor shows NO SIGNAL. It's like that on both 60 Hz, 75 Hz (I have FreeSync 2560x1080 display), fullscreen, borderless, min settings, max settings... I managed to find the cause though - when I unticked "Use DirectX12" in SoTR options, game starts without any problems. I have tested it for 4 hours and it works flawless. But Metro Exodus also uses DX12 and it works just fine! What can I do to prevent this thing from happening again? Why does my card behave like that? Is it faulty, should I return it? Why does it show "NO SIGNAL" and why do fans go 100%?
My specs: i5 6500, Z170K motherboard, 4x4 GB RAM, 650W EVGA PSU
Card works just fine when in game besides that, 180W max power draw, max temp 70*C, good framerates, Ive been testing it for like 20 hrs in Metro Exodus, Wreckfest and SoTR (without DX12 of course lol). I am just VERY concerned about that crashes. I can understand that on previous Windows it could be messy driver or something but these crashes on new OS with Dx12 enabled really concern me. I still have 5 days to give it back but I dont know if I should, maybe its just driver related or something... Please help
