Hello!
New to the forum and hoping to get some advice.
I have a MacBook Pro and an iMac in my home office to edit 4K videos, store Blu Ray movies (in MKV format), and I am hoping to build or buy a NAS server within this year. The NAS will have multiple users pulling movies, 4K MKV Blu-rays, and other files as well.
The performance of enterprise SSD is by far better than the consumer SSD (endurance, speed, etc...).
I just bought a 'Samsung MZQLB7T6HMLA-00007 PM983 7.6TB 2.5" PCI-E 3.0 x4 SSD'. For my Macs to recognize the SSD, I purchased the 'Sonnet Echo Express SE III Thunderbolt 3' and a 'Funtin PCIe NVMe SSD Adapter with U.2'.
I chose the Samsung SSD because of an acceptable mix of performance and price. Do this setup makes sense? Should I look into other options? Will MacOs be able to recognize the SSD?
I don't want to use HDD because of the low speeds and the fact that I have to have RAID to achieve speeds.
Please help me determine if I made the right choice.
Thank You
