Hey guys, Im pretty new to the audio world and to this forum so please go easy on me, I've read the pinned topics but I still need some advice.
I have recently bought the Beyerdynamic DT1990 Pro primarily for PC Gaming (CS:GO, Apex Legends, games where a good soundstage (if that is this right term for it), sense of direction and footsteps are really important.) and also listening to music.
Now my PC is running a default Realtek HD Audio card and the problem is, I cannot hear a significant difference between my Logitech G Pro Wireless and my Beyerdynamic DT1990 on my PC. When I connect the headphones to my samsung S5 mini, however, I cán hear a significant different between my skullcandy crusher and my Beyerdynamic. (Although not a 400,- worth of difference.)
So I need some advise, is this use case common in the audio world? Are basic Realtek audio cards really that bad that they sound the same on every device?
I would be willing to invest 100-200 more if the advise is to purchase a DAC (Although that means I would need to hear a 500-600,- difference in sound quality.) Volume does not seem like a problem right now so I don't think I need an Amp.
Hope you guys can help me out with some advise, if you need any more info feel free to ask.
Thanks in advance.
