  1. you are correct. it's so I can work on ideas or projects when I am not home. I use VMware as well in my dayjob. That's why I am looking at 9750's or 8750's. The difference in performance between the two is less than 10% which is hardly noticeable for most things but for production work...it's a little annoying but liveable. And yes...whatever laptop I wind up with will be crammed with 32GB of ram. I say 1060 but the 1660 might also foot the bill if I'm reading the data on the newer device correctly.
  2. I'm in central Texas. Weight can be around 5 lbs give or take. Battery life would need to be long enough to last on a flight from Austin to Los Angeles--about 3-4 hours of coding or writing. No production work while traveling. (I need drinks before I board any plane).
  3. So I am looking for a new laptop. I have a four year old MSI Apache Ghost and it's long term build quality has been disappointing. Now I am looking for a gaming rig that can do Photoshop, Premiere, Pro Tools, and high end games. I'm not into ray tracing and can live with last year's model. What complicates things are my massive storage requirements for audio/video production. I need something with at least two m.2 drives and an addition 2.5" drive slot. My budget is $1600 or less. I was leaning to a Legion 7000 but the single m.2 is not quite what I was looking for. Ideas? Thanks!
