i have a dell r610 that will at like clock work at 1 am spin 4 fans up top almost full rpm every day. Now i have check to see if something is running at that time nope. i have updated all the firmware to latest for that model. and even moved the fans around in the system to see if it was maybe a fan controller gone nuts nope. Now it has also done it at random times during the day. Again no reason this time i took some screen shots of the temps and the fan speeds. As you can see there is no load on the cpu's but still those fans ramp up. The room is Air conditioned Right now current board temp is 26c and i sit here typing this the 4 fans ramp up again.. its loud but hey its a server room.. but its puzzling for sure im thinking fans and that will be my next replacement. But its the consistent going off at 1 am that has me puzzled..

sorry i missed the reply till now.. yes lan it seems to have worked it self out. did some tweaking to the nics and that seems to be helping .. thanks

Hey Gang im sure this has been explained somewhere but i am going fire it out there. I have been transferring video files from one workstation to a server to hold them for editing later. What i am see is this the file starts out fast then settles to about 20Mb per second which is somewhat slow considering its on a 1gb network. then i drops down to 0 bytes then back to 20 for a while then back down to 0 bytes now i understand that its going to a Mechanical hard dive but i should be getting around 100mb on that file transfer. However its the up and down to zero that has me a but perplexed. Any ideas to tweak it that could combat that.. oh yeah its all on a windows network..
