  1. Is that expanding packing foam that prebuilts use something I can get in a UPS? Or is that something I have to get somewhere else. I've never thought about buying that.
  2. I already knew I was going to take out my 3080 TI. No way I was going to even try and ship that in the tower. I should do the CPU cooler as well? Ok.
  3. As the title suggests i'm in desperate need for tips on how to move my computer set up across country. I was lucky enough to snag a new job, but i'm forced to move from west coast all the way to Texas. Unfortunately I don't have the money to rent a car/uhaul or this would be a non issue. So i'm trying to figure out how to ship my tower and 3 monitors. Thinking about stuffing my keyboard and all of my peripherals in my clothes suitcase so that shouldn't be an issue, and my mic arm and monitor arms can be in a box by themselves. The biggest stress point is my tower and monitors. I don't have the box for either my tower or my monitors. Any help would be so so helpful. Thanks in advanced guys.
  4. I purchased an LG 27GL850-B a while back and noticed something weird. When I turn off the monitor if I goto bed or out, the computer acts as if it loses a monitor connection. Where the main display would swap to the monitor to the right of it. I've never had this interaction with a monitor before, was curious if this is something I can fix. Or it's just a quirk of the monitor.
  5. He doesn't work for a company. He is a one man show, in a very niche work field. Like he is the only one doing the repairs in the country. But again I understand, will try and get him to change. But if I can't, I will be loading windows 7.
  6. Yeah lasting long is something I do want to take into account. And unfortunately my uncle is an old turd who doesn't like change. So even though I'm right there with you. I don't think he will be wanting to swap fully to windows 10.
  7. My uncle is needing to replace his old as hell laptop. He is going to be mainly using it for work, which is web surfing/emailing and sometimes loading up programs for his work which he said aren't super intensive. He obviously really doesn't need a super ballin laptop, but I would like to steer him towards something that will last him a bit. Maybe a Lenovo Thinkpad? Idk, i'm super dumb when it comes to laptops. And one more thing is he prefers Windows 7. So when I get it, i'll probably be loading up windows 7 on it, which I don't think changes anything. Just wanted to make sure.
  8. So randomly I started noticing that the edges on things in the videos that i'm watching on youtube have been choppy. Like someone put on a vhs effect or something. I have no idea what happened. Link to a picture of it. And it only happens when objects move around in the video.
  9. Lmfao..... I hate that I forgot that NVCP was a thing. Thank you!
  10. Rivatuner has the ability to cap programs FPS? Sounds like my best bet
  11. I was wondering if it was possible to limit GPU usage for a certain application? I love watching youtube videos while playing certain games. Got back into Ark and have been enjoying it casually. But I notice that this game takes up 90%-95% easily, even when I turn everything on medium low. And when I cap out like that I notice that my youtube video stutters a lot, while the audio is fine. So i'm just curious if you guys know any good way to fix that. 12. Am I crazy in seeing that they both say 8GB in the title above them?
  13. Thank you. Found my sheet and am looking at two similar sticks, what is the difference between these two? 1RX16 vs 1RX8?
  14. New to owning a laptop, and am looking to throw in another stick of 8 GB's so I can at least have a minimum of 16. How do I go about figuring out what I should buy specifically speed wise. When I buy my ram I always buy the same product, with this laptop, I have no idea what brand or whatever is in it. Any help would be amazing!
  15. I just want a recommendation for a PSU, not alternatives man.
  16. Been told, and have seen videos were getting random cords that aren't supported or made specifically with your PSU's pins in mind. Can result in a dead PSU or worse, other parts.
  17. Hey guys, I got a new case from a local pc shop. It came with a 3 case fans that were all connected to a molex connector. I bought this PSU around 2015 and have had no problems at all since then. But after several moves, I have lost the extra cords that came with everything, including one of the cords that would let me power the fans through that molex connector. I ended up getting into contact with Thermaltake to see if I can get an extra cord, but they no longer make that model and can't help me, even though I should still have a valid warranty. Warranty might just be for if the PSU faults, regardless. I am trying to figure out a replacement. Seeing so many crappy designs and iterations over the years, I don't really know which companies are reputable anymore. Here is my build: AMD Ryzen 9 5900x - ROG STRIX B450 Aorus Wifi - 4x8GB 288-Pin DDR4 3000 G.Skill Ripjaws V Series - ThermalTake Toughpower 850W - Founders Edition 3080 TI
  18. Very new to gaming laptop ownership and I'm curious about something. Been going through my system, to see how it was set up and everything and noticed that when I opened up Nvidia Control Panel it says that my Laptop display is going through Intel UHD Graphics. I saw this going into the PhsyX Config. Also when I go to Advanced Display Settings in windows it says my display is going through Intel UHD. When I booted up some games, it notified me that my graphics drivers were years out of date. Which didn't make sense, because I updated them right when I got the laptop (About a week ago) and then DDU'd them in safe mode and reinstalled them. Are laptop displays supposed to go through the GPU like towers do? Or is this how they work?
  19. Maybe I’ll just stick with what I have and just try to be near a wall plug as much as I can. I’ll be using it to study more then I’ll be gaming. But want that option to be able to game
  20. Since with this laptop I’m only looking to play on games that really don’t need much horsepower at all. Would it be in my favor to go for a good integrated gpu instead of a discreet?
  21. As the game I’m currently into right now is RuneScape. So it’s not intensive at all. Maybe FF14, or any older single player games.
