  1. Yeah I was assuming that but as I wasn't 100% sure I just wanted to make a post for confirmation before I sink money into a monitor and find that it won't cope. Thanks for letting me know!
  2. Tbh regardless I just claim all the games on Amazon Prime Games or Epic Games regardless
  3. Hi, I'm currently trying to choose what kind of monitor I should go for. A family member of mine built my pc early 2020. My original plan was to get a 4k monitor of some kind for video editing, 3D works (animation, modelling etc), Illustrator, Photoshop, as well as watch films etc. As well as the monitor that is listed on the list, I am also using a generic 1080p Iiyama monitor (gifted by a friend) as a secondary display. The Dell monitor is running @ 144Hz & the iiyama is @ 60Hz. I game with mid range settings on my Dell monitor (full settings works smoothly but fans spin pretty hard so I opt for mid) - GTA for example. I would still be using this monitor for gaming even when I get a new monitor. My set up: (The CPU I have has the stock cooler attached.) Additionally, I also play VR games with the Rift S. I only have it plugged in when I am playing a game but I just thought I'd mention it in case it affects anything. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi, thanks for the that! I completely forgot to mention that I need to make sure that the motherboard has wireless capability. I get I can have a dongle but I would love to have something built into the system. Is there any reasonable priced 64gb (ram capacity minimum) with wireless capability? If not I guess I would have to get an external dongle but that's if it's not possible haha
  5. Hi, I have made a build similar to this, but I had swapped out some parts. Would it be possible to check it over for me to make sure that everything works together? I didn't get any issues on Picker so I guess it'll be fine but I would like to make sure haha. 6. Currently listening to this, tho I pretty much just listen to ant song from him or Deathbed/Coffee
  7. Hi, thanks for the help! I currently would be moving back home (Because Uni has moved the whole course online) for this academic year. However next year I will be moving back into accomodation for next academic year- and it would be safely stored at home when not in use . I was thinking of getting a desktop because I thought that it would be more capable / cheaper than getting a laptop. I am currently running off my Macbook pro (2017) which is capable with basic animation/editing (only 8GB haha), though I know for more intensive work it would make it more efficient. Thus I was kinda thinking that desktop would be better but I'm still not 100% sure... Tbh I've never built a pc so I would be a total beginner and would be scared to mess it all up - But I think I know a few people who would be able to assist me in building the pc, albeit from a distance haha.
  8. Hi all, I was wondering whether anyone could help me choose a set up or premade desk pc (Whichever would be the best) I could use for university and gaming etc. I am currently doing a Visual effects course, meaning that we use software such as Maya, Nuke, Substance painter, the Adobe creative suite and the like. I have a budget of around £800-1000 which I could stretch if I needed to. I would like to have a pc that would be able to last me some years, without having to completely buy a new system (Since I probably wouldn't be able to afford getting a new one haha). If anyone could point in the the right direction I would really be grateful Thanks!
  9. Oh sorry I didn't since that was a direct quote from the Bloomburg website. If I still needed to do that then I'm sorry aha
  10. I believe it's because she read this section of Bloomburg that made her concerned haha "End of iTunes iTunes has been the way Apple users listen to music, watch movies and TV shows, hear podcasts, and manage their devices for almost two decades. This year, Apple is finally ready to move into a new era. The company is launching a trio of new apps for the Mac – Music, TV, and Podcasts – to replace iTunes. That matches Apple’s media app strategy on iPhones and iPads. Without iTunes, customers can manage their Apple gadgets through the Music app."
  11. Ha, I guess that's true, I may as well tell them that it'll be fine, and even in the event of it shutting down, you will still be able to use the file transfer side of iTunes (If I got that wrong, let me know aha ) ? Its cuz they firmly believe what the news says... I don't know what I can really say to them to persuade them that it'll be okay to buy and use for as long as the device lasts ?
  12. Hi all, I'm currently in the process of selling my ipod Nano (7th gen). A question that I have been asked is whether there is any way you can transfer music from a pc/mac to the ipod without the use of iTunes. I know that there are many programs that solve the issue however I've noticed that all of them require you to pay to use, and only let you trial out the software. So does anyone have any recommendations as to how to do this / any freeware that I can recommend to the person that may buy my device? (The reason why they are asking this is that they want to be assured that there is an easy or easy-ish way to transfer music onto the device in the event that iTunes shuts down.) Thanks!
