  1. If I just turn down the resolution on a 1440p monitor when Im playing a game I want higher frame rates, would I get the same results as running on a normal 1080p monitor?
  2. I have an i5-6500, i havent had any issues reaching 60fps at 1080 on my current monitor. I normally have settings on high, but then again I dont often play very demanding games.
  3. Due to a relatives employee discount, I am able to get a 1080p 144hz w/ freesync or 1440p 144hz w/o freesync for about the same price. Which do you recommend? I am a very casual gamer and never experienced anything over 60hz. I would think that I would enjoy a higher resolution display, but with my graphics card I'm thinking that I might need freesync. How necessary is freesync for someone like me? I currently have a 1060 3gb and the monitor with freesync is one that I have read is considered to "compatible" with the new Nvidia drivers. When I play games its normally Overwatch, Elder Scrolls, or whatever is popular at the time. Though, I mostly use my computer for programming and CAD related programs.
