  1. I found it. In the bios for my motherboard it was set to PCI-E 1x16 instead of 2x8... this should auto detect but you know..
  2. it is enabled, no crossfire bridge on the r9 series and beyond
  3. Hey guys, thanks for stopping by. I have a Ryzen 7 1700 on an ASRock x370 SLI/AC motherboard, 16GB GSkill 2800 Mhz ram and two Sapphire R9 290x in crossfire. For some reason even under load my second card is reporting as idle at 300mhz and shows change in load, temps or fan speed. I swapped the cards to make sure the gpu wasn't dead, still the 2nd card is idle. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  4. Seasonic is IMO the best PSU maker. If you can get the m12II EVO, or the ss-xp2 they are really nice. They also are the OEM for most of the Antec power supplies including the High current gamer(modular only.) The EVGA G2 and P2 are also good psu's made by Superflower. The GS/PS series are made by seasonic. Any of those would be fine for what you are doing.
  5. If you are purely choosing between these two then GPU is obvious. However the 660ti is a capable card. What cpu and motherboard do you have. A new cpu might be worth it also, depending on what you have now.
  6. This is the updated parts list so far. CPU: Intel i3-3220 GPU: Sapphire 7970 GHz Motherboard: ASRock H77M Memory: 8GB Adata 1333Mhz HDD: 1TB WD Re4 Power Supply: Cougar SX700 Case: NZXT S340 Black Total Cost $190.
  7. Ok so I managed to score a I3-3220 8gb memory a 500gb hard drive a asrock h61 motherboard and a nzxt source 210 case for $15. I brought a power supply to see if it would boot and it did. Once I got it home it seems as if the MOBO hangs at the first step in the bios and freezes on boot. So I was wondering if you guys could help me find a decent lga1155 mobo for $70 or less can be refurb also.
  8. Sorry But I'd have to disagree with you there slightly XFX is garbage. They have terrible vrm and memory cooling which results in unstable cards if you even try to push them 25mhz past stock. ASUS has always had a great product whether it was my old 560ti or my first 7970 from them solid pcb great cooling on all components. Also had 2 MSI lightning BE 7970 GHZ that were amazing. I currently have 2 Sapphire 290x Tri-x. For AMD top 3 are Sapphire, ASUS, and MSI. Only done one system with powercolor for a friend and it seems ok so far.
  9. I have a few leads on i7-2600k with motherboard and ram that I might pursue also if the price is right. Also as I said in OP, if anyone has any older parts I can buy at a decent price or they would be willing to give them to me let me know. Either here or email k1llampt@yahoo.com
  10. So far I have picked up a Sapphire 7970 GHz and a Cougar SX700 power supply. The GPU was $100 and the Power supply was only $30 never used!
  11. So far this is the parts list. CPU: Intel Pentium G3258 CPU Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO GPU: Sapphire 7970 GHz Motherboard: ASUS Z97-AR-R Memory: 8GB Mushkin Enhanced eco2 HDD: 1TB WD Re4 Power Supply: Cougar SX700 Case: NZXT S340 Black
  12. I will have to go a little above my initial 300 that I wanted to spend, but I have a decent lead on 16gb of ram for $40 if that doesnt work ill just pick up 8gb for $30ish. I think I've settled on an ASUS z97-ar board as well for only $69.
  13. the 260x is kinda weak, I have found a 7950 for 85, a 6970 for 75 and a 7970 for 100. Edit: Also that power supply would never go into a build from me. I would prefer his house to not catch fire.
  14. that is a good find, I haven't seen anything near that good for that price.
