  1. At first, I tried uninstalling the windows security update, but that did not work. I then tried to uninstall the actual windows update. But that didn't work either.
  2. I've had my computer for almost 2 years now. Have not had a problem like this ever. It just started one day. Also, auto update is off. I'll try downgrading tho.
  3. My computer keeps freezing while gaming... For the past couple of days, while I'm gaming, my computer freezes. I am still able to move my mouse around but when I click on things or hover over anything, nothing happens. I can still hear the audio fine after this freeze. Discord, YouTube, the game I'm playing still sound fine. The keyboard also works. This has happened multiple times in one night/gaming session and its infuriating. I've done a bit of googling and the only thing I could find that really makes sense is a GPU issue. Recently I've been using my 2070 Super for Bitcoin mining using Nicehash Miner. But why would that cause an issue? I never let it get too hot, 70C max ever. Any ideas? Specs: CPU: Ryzen 2600x, was overclocked a bit, but now running on stock speed. GPU: Zotac 2070 super Ram: 32gb G.Skill Trident Z RGB (4 sticks) 2933mhz Motherboard: MSI b450 Tomahawk PSU: Corsair RM 850W (2019) Gold OS: Windows 10 Pro HDD: 2TB Seagate SSD: 256GB samsung 850 evo M.2: 256GB sabrent (boot)
  4. Hey guys, I'm back. Different issue this time... 5. @Moonzy @narrdarr Okay i did it. Completely fresh install of windows. usb stick and all! IT WORKS!! completely back to normal! its a shame it had to come to this but i think that my computer running at its normal speed again trumps the loss of my old things thank you guys so much for all the help
  6. alright, i tried copying the the boot drive into onto my hard drive but not everything transferred. it was only about 20gb in the transfer but there's 140gb in the drive. There's no program data, or a users folder, which is where most of the files are. i also tried using windows backup and the only thing that showed up is a 32gb usb drive. how do i do this properly?
  7. how do i make sure i dont mess up/delete my data? ive tried copying my user file to another drive but it stops halfway through saying i dont have permissions or something. there are many folders, with a bunch of subfolders, whithout having to go though every single folder, which contain my files and data that i probably want to keep
  8. I would really rather not do this, because im going to have to set everything up again, thats not fun. so are you sure theres nothing else i can do?
  9. yeah ive done that a few times. the first time i did it, it repaired some but that did nothing twards fixing the problem
  10. Alright ill do that. Im going to do a virus scan first, just to see if that brings up anything.
  11. @Moonzy@narrdarr I was wrong, there isn't really much difference in performance. What do i do?
