  1. I have a PC that I use for file sharing on my network. It has two 2tb hard drives in it. On disk management I have merged them so they show up as one 4tb hard drive. I am going to be changing this PC's motherboard so I can fit it in a smaller case. When I change the motherboard if I attach both hard drives will it show up as one or could it corrupt them?, I'm not really sure how this works.
  2. Just about to buy an i5 10400f and an asrock b560m motherboard. My Power supply is old and only has a 4pin cpu cable instead of an 8 pin one. The motherboard has an 8 pin cpu connector. Will using the 4pin cable work and supply enough power to the cpu or will i need to buy a new power supply with an 8 pin connector?
  3. on Ebay you can get an I5 6600k for 100 euros but its used.
  4. As the socket 1151 is older, it supports 6th gen intel processors. To get these brand new would cost more for your money then it is worth spending. You should look into getting a new motherboard, CPU and ram but this will cost probably more then 200 euros. What Motherboard and Ram do you have currently? Is a 4 core Processor and 8gb ram good enough for you? as you may be able to get that for 200 euros.
  5. 1. Are the fans in the Corsair 4000x (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-Tempered-Mid-Tower-RapidRoute-Management/dp/B08C76W2WM/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=corsair%2B4000x&qid=1624986093&sr=8-1&th=1) the Sp 120 Elites? If yes, do they have the same RGB LED's as the SP 120 pros have?
  6. I bought this powerline kit. https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LXOZ4EN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it says on the description that the powerline plug has a maximum speed of 600mbps. When it arrived it included 2 cat 5 cables. On Amazon it says the ethernet port is only a 100mbps one but I'm not sure if that's right. If I use cat5e cables (gigabit connection) will this allow speeds of closer to 600mbps or is the port only 100mbps. Pls tell me as I want to know if I should buy some cables or not
  7. Even if my router was not as good as gigabit ethernet connection I should still be getting at least 10MB/s (That's if it was 100mbps connection) why aren't I?
  8. @leadeaterIt is my Wifi that gets 50mbps, when copying files I get on average 5.5- 6MBps which is around 50mbps
  9. I have drives that can do at least 140mb/s easily and my cabling is cat5e which is capable of gigabit and the pc's and routers have gigabit ethernet ports
  10. I'm the biggest noob at networking. This may be a stupid question tell me if it is. I have 2 Windows 10 PC's both plugged directly into the router via gig ethernet. On one of them I have a folder that I have shared using the built in Windows share. For some reason if I go on the 2nd PC and try copy a file over the network from the first PC, I get the same speeds of the internet my router is providing (50mbps). Should I not be getting closer to Gigabit speeds as it's being sent over LAN? I think the problem is that it's not being send over LAN but through the network provider and being sent back to me but I don't know much about this.
  11. I mean will it output to the display, without a problem at 165hz
  12. I have an old GPU, the GTX 980 (its good enough for me) will it be able to output 165hz at 1080p?
