  1. I have the B18 mini pc with i9 8950HK, 32gb ram, 512gb ssd, m.2 500gb Samsung 970 pro nvme, EVGA RTX 2080 xc ultra, x16 riser to x4 m.2 m-key. I'm looking for build options. I'm thinking about getting a pelican case to put a 18.4+ monitor 2k 144hz, and I'm sure I need a 1000w psu, at least a 750w psu for just the RTX 2080. I'm also thinking about water cooling everything to keep the 5.0Ghz+ overclocking. I love the crazy builds they do on LTT but I have not seen them do this one yet and I would like some advice from someone that knows what to do. I'm just throwing this together with just an idea. Oh and I'm also planning on making a small unit from my rig to us as a VR backpack, but that is after I get this tiny rig set up.
  2. I have a HP Pro 3005tm, Athlon x2 245, 8gb ram, (x2) 500gb HDD. That's the older pc I use for day to day schoolwork. I also have a Pentium 4 650 3.4ghz single core, 2gb ram, 775 mb. Both clean and neither worth putting any money into. Lol
  3. Shop around. I went on to ebay and set it to "buy now" and got a RTX 2080 xc ultra for $650 and it is real clean, box, static bag, like new. As long as you are ready to buy and luck out that day you can find a good quick deal. Good luck. Oh EVGA has web sales every Wednesday so get on there early.
  4. Looking to run a eGPU RTX 2080 xc ultra and wanted to know if I could use 1 or 2 powe bricks with 8 pin connectors. I have seen some done but not explained and if I do bricks which ones can I run without power spikes.
  5. It has been a workhorse for the last 10 years and I have never thought about an upgrade till recently. I hate my wife's apple products and I love my old pc more than her apple laptop. My lenovo 100c with a Samsung 970 pro m.2 works better than her apple.
  6. I expect that would be the answer I would see. I just figured it would be worth putting maybe $100 into and a super cheap gpu.
  7. I have a 10 year old desktop I'm trying to give a boost to. It actually works great for office work and watching videos, but I have never even tried to game on it. It has a Athlon x2 245 but I have seen them replaced with Phenom x4 945 and work with same motherboard. I have another build planned but waiting for certain items to get cheaper so I'm thinking about giving my old pc a boost rather than bury it in my basement and no I'm not going to just toss it in the trash. Lol
  8. Ok, so if I use both of my m.2 x4 slots with two GDC v9.5 ....can I sli them? Or dare I ask could I just use two Radeon cards and let them crossfire? It's bad enough losing the performance through the x4.
  9. Gotcha, so I will just have to be patient. I just see dual socket risers online but they look cheap. I did like the R43 but the EXP GDC v9.5 looked like a better choice.
  10. Do they make a dual x16 slot to single x16 card? I'm sorry to ask such a simple question but I don't know what is out there and since they frown on a set up that might be for mining I can't find the info. I'm not going to mine with this set up btw. I just wanna game.
  11. I will be making this for the i9 8950hk mini pc, 32gb ram. I know one card will work, but you have to get greedy when it comes to the FPS.
  12. I'm trying to make a dual eGPU to m.2 m-key x4. I like the EXP GDC v9.5 but I do not see it in dual socket and can not find a small expansion card that is dual x16 to single x16. I do not want a thunderbolt solution because that is more parts to get and setup does not have TB at all. I feel that they have to make some for servers, I just want to build a specific gaming rig and it's melting my brain. Lol I watch LTT everyday and trying to get some good replies from someone who knows what they're talking about or at least have the friends who do. Can anyone help.
