  1. 2 x 16gb @ 3600mhz as below - still cant get it stable when I OC to 3800mhz or when I knock the times down to 14 14 35 @ 3600mhz so still need to figure that out
  2. Eir FTTH 1gb Down 100mb Up with Eir's multiroom TV service via two free Apple TV's = 97.94 a month. Ireland's "cheap" price for you. Still excellent speeds and latency but got my own XR500 to feed off the crappy ISP router. Considering I was on a 4g home connection barely a year a go with 8mb download and barely a 1 up (I wont dare think about the number of 2000ms ping spikes that came with that 4g service) - I am delighted regardless of price of FTTH
  3. I went with F4-3600C16D-32GTZN (seems good for OC as well) so thanks a mill for the advice folks.
  4. Just wanted to ask a follow on question if I may if you know - do you find Ryzen 3000 series generally handles a 4 x 8gb ram configuration or 2 x 16gb ram configuration better / differently may I ask or its truly motherboard specific? I was researching my board and I found the following: 1 dimm per channel 1 rank - 4400mhz 1 dimm per channel 2 rank - 3733mhz (already under what zen3 can benefit from) 2 dimm per channel 1 rank - 3866mhz 2 dimm per channel 2 rank - 3466mhz (under what zen 2 can benefit from). 5. I was just asking in case anyone here has the same board and done a RAM upgrade - therefore they could share their experience. Plus this is my first Ryzen system so didn't have to deal with QVL related issues regarding my previous intel rig. You know @frozensun, usually there's never any harm in asking a question Wasn't looking for some magic tricks, but if you have any - do share!
  6. Bump. Can anyone advise? Would really appreciate it if you don't mind
  7. Hi All I have been looking for a good match of ram for this board and CPU but it seems that the MSI compatibility list doesn't line up very well with the QVL for Ryzen 3000 series. I was wondering if anyone can advise or share their experience. I'm based in Ireland and usually buy via amazon.de or amazon.nl so feel free to share some links if you spot something that works on your buying travels. Currently Im looking at getting: F4-4000C15Q-32GTZR (2x8GB MSI: says it works) - Samsung 5WB: This one has been tricky to find online or BLM16G44C19U4B.M8FB1 (2x16GB: MSI says it works) - Micron B: This one has been tricky to find online The problem is it doesn't seem to be on the QVL on the AMD site or pangoly.com. Any advice is appreciated. Appreciate the help with this. Once I get this sorted - just need to wait for prices to drop for 3080/3080ti . FYI I'm currently running GSkill 2666mhz CL15 that is OC to 2800mhz CL14. Can get it to 2933 but CL goes to 16. Don't know what's wrong with the FSB:RAM since I have the BIOS manually set to fclk 1400 and dram 2800 - both CPU-z and hwinfo report is as not 1:1 FYI Comparison Links I'm using: MSI Global - The Leading Brand in High-end Gaming & Professional Creation Compatible Memory with MSI MAG B550M MORTAR WIFI - Pangoly Ryzen-Compatible Memory | Supports AMD Ryzen 3000 and higher | AMD
  8. Yeah i swapped my 980 pro to the pcie 3.0 slot and got a WD sn850 for my pcie 4.0 slot - havent looked back since. Was really disappointed with Samsung on this one.
  9. Seems they have pulled the health check tool too - looks like there may be some revisions to this hardware list coming, probably from feedback and data from the insider programme. Hope so anyways since my laptop has a 7700HQ
  10. Ive got the 250gb variant and still no sign of the new firmware. 208gb total with over provisioning active and 133gb of free space.... My speeds have gotten worse as well....
  11. Cheers for the heads up on this. Potentially a bit of good news
  12. Same as well for myself - utterly rubbish write speeds and only ever initially reached 2.6gb before these last three results. System is: 3800x B550 MSI Mortar: PCIe Gen 4 manually selected Fresh OS Install on 980 Pro 256GB: ~70% Free space (not factoring in Over Provisioning of 10%) AMD Drivers up to date Samsung Firmware and Software up to date Has anyone found any more information on this may I ask?
  13. Cheers for your response I was looking at the following graphics card myself: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3070 GAMING OC 8GB Graphics Card: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories Obviously not going to pay scalper prices for it but it does seem a tight fit since the front side usb connector is quite beefy...So you think a 57 mm height card (MSI Ventus 3080) shouldn't be impacted by the bottom motherboard connectors like the front side usb connector for example?
  14. Hi First off - excuse the dust on the gpu and below it, pc is overdue its monthly blast of compressed air and havent been able to get a can with the current lockdown here. My question regarding this relatively new build (still a work in progress due to budget) is concerning finding a 2 slot 3000 series card for this following pc: b450m ds3h motherboard 3800x 650watt psu with one 6 and one 8 pin connector for a new graphics card. Currently using only the 8 pin on a gtx 1070 msi OC 8gb variant (transferred from recently decommissioned 2600k build) Standard Mid Tower GameMax Case My concern is that it seems that the various connections, sata, front side usb and audio will most likely get in the way of placing a 3 or 2.5 slot card onto this board (using the top pci-e slot). So I was wondering if anyone has any experience or advice on what or any card would be a good fit for this, preferably without upgrading the psu and/or motherboard but will take any advice on this. Thanks a mill in advance!
