  1. After some more googling, I found that apparently ESXI is always set to UTC (coordinated universal time) timezone. I set both WinSer to this time zone and promoted the first vm to a DC. I then checked and both server instances have the exact same time. But when I try to promote the second DC I still receive the same error.
  2. Hi @leadeater thank you for your comment. Indeed I think that time seems to be the issue for me. I currently have a VM of Win Server running through ESXI on a small desktop I have running at home. I noticed that after promoting the server to a Domain Controller it is no longer synching time from an NTP source, but it shows: Time Server: local CMOS clock And it makes the time run 2 hour before the actual local time. So I'm guessing that the VM is now trying to get the time from the desktop's CMOS and that this is set incorrectly. I'll hook up a monitor and keyboard to the desktop tomorrow to check the time in the desktop's BIOS.
  3. Hi everyone, I'm trying to setup a small homelab to educate myself on Windows Server. But I'm running into an issue that I can't figure out. I have setup 1 Domain Controller, created a new forest and new domain called arrow.local and this works correctly. But whenever I try to add a second Domain Controller, I keep receiving the following error when trying to add it to the domain: Encountered an error contacting domain arrow.local The server is not operational The first DC is online, I can ping DC1 from DC2 and I can ping DC2 from DC1. I have tried in multiple hypervisors (esxi, VM Ware, HyperV). Tested with connecting the VM's to my home network and to a separate virtual network. I've tried to set the DNS for DC2 to the IP of DC1. I have followed multiple tutorials down to the letter, but still I am unable to add a second domain controller. I am always able to ping both devices from each other, but unable to add the second DC to the domain. I am using Windows Server 2022 Are there any settings, firewall settings, etc that I could be missing? Thank you for reading.
  4. If you could use your eyes and brain at the same time, you would have seen that I only replied to this tweet that was posted: To stop the speculation and DM's I am receiving. I chose to quit my role at LTT because it, and the working environment I was facing, were ruining my mental health. The number of daily items the Social media role at the time was expected to fill was incredibly high. My response was solely pointed towards the high workload. The entire thread was not yet posted and I'm not going to waste my time to register on twitter/x to read a gigantic thread. Be hey, nice reply. Boy oh boy, you sure showed me.
  5. I think you misunderstood me. I meant that the subreddit was actually bringing Linus' kids into the conversation, and that's one step beyond. The flashy thumbnails, that's something that every youtuber does. Take a look at GN's thumbnails, same story there. Cause they still have to play the game in order to attract viewers. I don't see anything in the video stating that he took it as a personal offense when pointed out to bad graphs. This is something he even addressed himself last WAN show. But when people start calling you a thief, yeah how else can you take that besides a personal offense? When you have such a complicated pipeline to produce video's, you cant expect change to happen in the span of 24 hours. They even hired somebody whose sole job is to look over the graphs and make sure the info is correct. I mean, how many other channels have a dedicated graphs guy/girl? Oh come on now, now you're just splitting hairs. If you want to be even more precise, he's wearing merch that people can't even buy since it was LTX exclusive. It's a known fact that Linus dresses like a cartoon character and only has 1 kind of pants and LTT merch. I don't see any difference with Steve wearing his merch during his video? Why should both be mutually exclusive? As if you can't be genuinely sorry just because there are some links below the video? I can understand why people would think that, but I honestly don't see the issue here. It's a serious video, but it's still an LTT video. It hem showing that they can still be themselves, it doesn't take anything away from the actual message of the video and the steps that are going to be taken. I thought that that was all that really counted for the people? That they would take action, but apparently that's not the case. Did you miss the part where Yvonne was basically on the brink of crying? Did you miss Colton's apology and explanation regarding the Billet incident? And like I said, each department head outlining the steps they are planning to take. Even making systems open source. Do people actually know what they want themselves? If it would have been a pure apology and nothing else video, there would be complaints that there was nothing stated on how they will address the issues going onward. Like I said, I can see why some parts of the video might rub people the wrong way. But I also believe that some people are just trying to find flaw just for the sake of flaw.
  6. I already watched it. That's why I'm asking you to provide the proof. Since you're bringing up this statement it is up to you to back it up with evidence.
  7. Please, provide some time stamps where Linus or any one else is still blaming others? I'm genuinely curious.
  8. At a certain point, the toxic cesspool that is the LTT subreddit started targeting his kids. This went way beyond questioning the integrity of LTT, these were nothing more than personal attacks. Yeah, he does run on feelz, just like he said in the video. And I think that's what a lot of people also like about Linus. He is very open about a lot of stuff, about more than he should be some times. But I'd rather have a person like that, than some corporate reaction. Apology video is monetized. Honestly, who cares? Is that all that people can take away from this? I know people worshiped the holier than though disabling of monetization by GN. Do you really think that this wasn't a well thought out strategy by GN? Does it really take away from the message? Especially since they won't be releasing any video for the next week. LTT/LMG merch staged on set What staged merch? Hell, what set? They are literally sitting on a couch in front of a camera. I didn't see anyone complain about GN's merch being plastered all over his set with his demonetized video. Links to lttstore What does this matter? Really, explain. How does this in any way take away from the message? Cooling block price Afaik they only asked GN to not reveal the price. Otherwise, just a mistake. 69 Six nines = 99,9999% uptime. Oh no, he made a small wink referencing a running gag that's been going on for years. I don't see what that has to do with company culture. I doubt that a guy with 2 small daughters would ever allow such behavior in his company. All in all, I feel that people who are nitpicking at everything in the video can not be satisfied. Some people would only have been satisfied if it was a video stating that they're shutting down LMG affective immediately.
  9. This was already addressed in the past. Blaming this on Linus is completely nuts, but I understand a grieving father. But the facts: 1. In the NCIX auction video, you can see that Linus wants to buy the silver play button. 2. Linus arrived to late and the button was already sold to the kid that owned MindChop. 3. Linus asked if he could buy it from him since it holds sentimental value to him. 4. The kid and his dad explain he never received the silver play button for his own channel. 5. The kid offers Linus to buy the play button and shows him his channel 6. The kid decides to sell to Linus, but Linus decides that the kid can keep it after seeing his channel 7. Linus gives him a shout out for being so cool to offering to sell the button back to him 8. Linus gives the kid's channel a shout out in the video. After this, some idiots with keyboards and to much time on their hands decided to harass the kid, even after Linus telling them to stop that idiotic behavior. It annoys me that people keep bring up stuff like this, the wage discussions and union talk without presenting the facts as they actually are. Simply to frame Linus as a monster.
  10. I honestly don't see the problem with the apology video. I myself am relieved that they are still able to be themselves, even after everything that happened the past few days. I went to the subreddit after the video dropped (yes, I should have known better) and people are still criticizing basically everything about the video. Who cares about the monetization? As if they wouldn't be fine without the revenue of this video. Especially since they won't be releasing anything for the entire week. As if GN is somehow morally superior for not enabling monetization, but plastering his merch all over the video. Yvonne was on the brink of crying the entire time she was on screen. I doubt you'll get a more "real" response than that. But that's normal after seeing your husband being personally attacked for 48 hours straight. I honestly liked the lttstore bit, it didn't take anything away from the actual message of the video. They had every department head explain every step they'll be taking to make things better. I honestly don't know what people expect more at this point. I for one am glad that this wasn't a Linus goodbye video. Cause for some time, I did feared that at one point he would say "Guys, I'm going to retire completely from anything LMG related in best interest of the company.". And I am glad that this wasn't the case. Very curious if there will be a WAN show, since they were on a pretty good streak. And Colton lives to be fired another day!
  11. Oh no, a high workload at a demanding job. This has never been seen in the history of capitalism.
  12. More than likely that was an emotional response. I doubt they aren’t either gonna make a video or address it on the WAN show. They know the space to good for that.
  13. Perhaps you should give them the time to you know, actually make a video then?
  14. Being a team lead myself I understand and agree that crap does not go downhill but uphill. But at a certain point you also need to realize that people are hired to perform a job. It is not possible to start micromanaging every single thing they do. Cause at that point you're not a good leader and you might as well could do things yourself.
  15. Well, that seems to be the conclusion everybody is making + what Billet posted themselves. And again, I don't want to be victim blaming but sending your only good prototype that you still need for development is just not a smart business descission. Of course it was not correct for LMG to sell it. But I don't understand why everyone is personally blaming Linus for this. The times of him personally being in contact with companies is long gone. Occam's razer suggest that all of this stems from a large break down of communication between LMG management, the staff and Billet. Why would they willingly sell/auction something if each and every one knew they couldn't? What possibly gain could LMG have for this?
