  1. New WhoCrashed output. WhoCrashedOutput 3.htm
  2. Some suspicions/things I noticed or did: - Browser extensions - I run uBlock Origin, AdBlock as well as Adblock Plus. However, I disabled them, as well as every other extension in my browser and I still got a blue screen. - I have a case fan that started becoming misaligned slightly so it was making loud noises. Instead of fixing it I taped it down coz cable management... Could it be short circuiting hardware while trying to run the motor? - Initially I thought Chrome was the culprit and didn't like ads being blocked on YouTube so I switched to Firefox. Chrome was crashing while watching videos. Firefox seems to want to crash but stays alive, meaning the video would turn black for a few seconds but keeps going. - I updated the BIOS to the latest version recently, but the crashes were happening before that. - All drivers are the latest, got them from the ASUS website for the motherboard, NVIDIA drivers are the latest and windows is at the latest version. - If my memory serves me correctly, I believe this started happening when I updated my RAM from 16GB to 32GB. I initially had 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX sticks, added 2 more. I could be wrong though. - Ran all sorts of tests on my hardware and everything seems clean and performing at an above average or average level, from RAM to drives, to graphic card.
  3. Hey, I've been getting a lot of BSODs the past few months. I've been suspecting it's a hardware issue but I don't know, I'm not an expert, and I have no idea which hardware it could be. This happens mainly when I watch YouTube. It rarely happens when the PC is idle and happened once while I was playing a game, otherwise, it's YouTube. I have some suspicions that I'd like to share but I'll do that in the next post. OS - Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista? - Windows 11 Pro x86 (32-bit) or x64? - 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor What OS was originaly installed on the system? - Windows 10 Pro Is the OS an OEM version (came pre-installed on system) or full retail version (YOU purchased it from a retailer)? - I believe the OS was OEM, I bought it on Kinguin or a similar website. Age of system (hardware) - System is always being upgraded, but I'd say most of it is max 3-4 years old, although the graphic card is second hand but the person I bought it from clearly wasn't really a gamer and it was sparkly clean. Age of OS installation - have you re-installed the OS? - The OS is brand new, a month old. I updated to windows 11 assuming it was my OS at first, totally fresh install didn't keep anything except stuff that aren't on my main drive, and if there are apps they're portable. CPU model - AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 6-Core Processor 3.80 GHz Video Card model - EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 FTW Motherboard - (if NOT a laptop) - ASUS Prime x570-P Power Supply - brand & wattage (if laptop, skip this) - EVGA 850GQ (B Model) - Bought during mid week madness System Manufacturer - I built it Laptop or Desktop? Desktop I shared dump files from WhoCrashed although windows doesn't seem to be keeping track of all my crashes, I definitely have a lot more crashes than I have dump files. I appreciate all the help I can get WhoCrashedOutput 2.htm WhoCrashedOutput.htm
  4. That actually did make a difference, I didn't expect it to to be honest. Damn, well that's a pretty annoying yet simple solution heh
  5. I did that for both Chrome and Discord and initially I thought it helped and I thought I had an epiphany but in reality nothing really changed sadly haha... I kept hardware acceleration off anyway as I don't see the use for it for what I'm doing... Any other other ideas? Did you ever solve your issue?
  6. My main display is a 144hz 1080p monitor while my secondary display is a 60hz 1080p monitor. Now I don't know what it is but when I start a youtube video or something as simple as a gif (anything animated really) on my secondary display, I feel my main display's refresh rate drop to that of the secondary's and I often have to stop whatever content I'm running on my secondary display before I rage in an intense gunfight. I assumed that the issue was that I only had one graphics card but I connected my second display to the mobo and it's running on integrated graphics and I'm still getting the same thing. Is it a software glitch or a CPU bottleneck perhaps? I have an i7-6700k and playing games such as Overwatch and World of Warcraft on a GTX 1080 which aren't very demanding titles. I appreciate your input.
  7. I just tried plugging my PC into my modem directly but when I do that, the router doesn't get internet and no amount of device restarts is fixing it so I might have to call my ISP tomorrow about it and see if I can only use one line on my modem. I also don't have the username and password for my modem to tinker with it. My upload speed is 50-70 Mb/s and that has the most bufferbloat When I turn on QoS, a new problem is created by dropping my internet speed to a max of 150 Mb/s instead of 1 Gb/s, since I MUST disable NAT Boosting.
  8. I saw QoS was a solution to bufferbloat following guides from openwrt/fast/dslreports. I play a lot of competitive first person shooters and I get a lot of hiccups in my connection because I'm often downloading something on my laptop (I'm guessing). My internet speed is more than capable of handling the bandwith and my laptop can only download up to 250 Mb/s because its receiver is pretty crappy so my PC should at least get the rest of my bandwith. The quality of my line is A+ but my bufferbloat hovers between B and A, which degrades from my gaming experience. I also noticed that when I do a speed test, my router CPU usage skyrockets to 85%+ which I don't think is ideal, it means it's barely capable of handling the speed from my understanding? I'm doing my best to make my connection as reliable as possible to be honest, and I'm guessing QoS is the first step
  9. I'm trying to set up QoS on my TP-Link AC1200 router, however, the router seems to only allow me to enable QoS if I disable NAT Boost. Disabling NAT Boost dropped my 1Gb connection down to a 100-150Mb connection. I tried my best to educate myself about the subject and stumbled upon OpenWrt/LEDE which should handle it for you. I didn't go through with OpenWrt though, because I had version 1 of the router, instead of the supported version 2. I'm hoping more knowledgeable people than I am can help me with this, because right now I'm pretty positive that this is a hardware limitation and I need to get a new router or a switch, but I am probably doing something wrong.
  10. Can you please correct me if I'm wrong because this is what I understood before posting: Will using a single hub that is connected with a 4 pin apply the voltage values to the 3 pin fans? (my understanding was no) Based on your reply it's also a no but I'm just double checking since I'm coming face to face with reality now lol I'm using an AsRock Z170 Pro 4s motherboard and afaik there was no way for me to set the fan voltages in the BIOS. Is my only option at this point to buy PWM fans? PS: Thanks Eastman51 and WoodenMarker for your replies
  11. Hey guys, I'm a bit lost here. I have 5 fans (including my CPU fan) in my PC so I'm using splitters. 3 of those are 3 pin fans. My PC runs them at full blast at all times. I've been trying to educate myself for the past hour but I'm still unsure of what to do. I want to control the fan speed so it ramps up or down based on CPU temperature. My motherboard doesn't support voltage control on fans. I've tried to look into Speedfan but I got very confused very quickly and decided to put it aside. I looked at "Electop Chassis Fan Hub CPU Cooling HUB 10 Port 12V 4 Pin Fan PWM Fan Hub Molex Controller" and "Phanteks PWM Fan Hub Controller (PH-PWHUB_01)" on Amazon but I'm not sure either of these will do the trick for me. I would like to save as much money as possible so if someone could link me to a guide on speedfan on how to set it up, I would appreciate it, google hasn't been on my side today and keeps sending me to random sites that don't even include the word dc in them. Other solutions are also appreciated.
