  1. I know that every card has different limits but I just wanted a reference to set a base point. Thank you so much to let me know about the OC scanner! I played around with afterburner for so long without noticing this feature!
  2. Hey guys did anyone here own an rtx 2060 super and overclocked it? If possible I would like to hear some results without changing voltage. That would save me so much time. Thank you!
  3. mobo: msi b450i gaming ac cpu: ryzen 3700x ram: corsair vengeance 3200 I tried to overclock my ram by using memory try-it. After a few successful tries, my system stopped booting up, there is no display output at all. I want to know if it is 100% the mobo's problem or the problem can be on cpu/ram/graphics card? Is there anything i can do except contacting msi support?
  4. So I have built a new system which has two fans but only 1 system fan port on the mobo. I decided to use a PWM fan y-splitter. After I booted up my pc only 1 fan is spinning. I had a few tests, and lets say I have fan 1 and fan 2, and the splitter has head 1 and head 2. Test 1: using splitter, head 1 on fan 1, head 2 on fan 2 ---> only fan 2 is spinning. Test 2: using splitter. head 1 on fan 2, head 2 on fan 1 ---> only fan 2 is spinning still. After 1 and 2 I swapped to another splitter but it gives the same result, which means the splitter has no issue. Test 3: no splitter, connect fan 1 to mobo ---> fan 1 spinning Test 4: no splitter, connect fan 2 to mobo ---> fan 2 spinning Test 3 and 4 shows that both of the fans has no issue. Where is the problem and how do I fix this? Thank you! Ed: both of the fans are the noctua nf-a14 and the y-splitter is from noctua as well.
  5. 3700x is my choice. I hope the mobo can handle that
  6. How do you know whether the PWM is good? My current choice is between ROG strix b450-i gaming, B450 i AORUS pro wifi and MSI B450i gaming plus ac. Their prices are so close so I dont know which one to get.
  7. I dont overclock my cpu so I'm trying to decrease my budget on mobo. Almost all the mobos on the market have 4+2 phase PWM. Would that be enough for a ryzen 3700x?
  8. Need recommendations for 1080p budget monitors! Im not sure which refresh rate do I need yet, but I do play games like csgo and overwatch a lot. So please recommend some 60/75/120/144hz monitors so I can compare their prices and make a dicision!
  9. Which other stuff should I care more about on the board?
  10. Does using the lowest-end chipset motherboard affect cpu performance? If I'm not going to overclock anything, is choosing the cheapest motherboard (that support the cpu I'm choosing) okay?
  11. Well I believe im using duo channel memory as how it was when i bought it. And I just checked the cpu temp while playing PUBG. It runs at about 80C so I dont think it"s the reason of gpu clock drops
  12. Pretty new laptop with gtx-1060maxq. While im playing games, the frame rate keeps dropping. I found that the time of dropping is not totally random, usually when opening up backpack menus or someone shooting. After that I used msi afterburner to monitor the temperature and clock. The gpu temperature is always about 65C in games, but the frame rate sometimes drops from about 1800 to about 200, then immediately goes up again. How do i solve this issue?
  13. Recently I bought a Dell G5 laptop, it comes with a 126gb ssd and a 1tb hdd. I installed all my games on the hdd and i found that the computer loads the games for too long, and it crashes sometimes in game. (For example when i play PUBG, when someone is shooting near me, my laptop crashes for like half a second, and also it just crashes randomly throughout the whole game.) Is it a common problem when you install games on hdd? Or is there any failure on my hdd? If it is common, i've heard a way to boost up hdd by using small ssds. However the 128gb ssd on my laptop has already been used for system drive, and there's no other drive slots on the laptop. I'm thinking of seperating a little storage from my hdd and use that to speed up the hdd. Is this method valid?
  14. Wow it's you again! Sorry I'm not good at these PC related stuff. Do you mean like the aida64 makes the cpu hitting the power limit so it cannot run in full speed? How does the power limit show up and does this result of stress test have negative effect on actual gaming? Thank you!
