  1. I plan to be doing a lot of video capturing and editing. So is Optane the best for speed prolly then? (like 4 hours a day of recording)
  2. I am struggling trying to read between the lines of all the SSDs on the market. How do I know if one is full SLC or if they are MLC or TLC using an SLC cache? If they are using a cache; how can I tell how much memory the cache provides of SLC before swapping? Thanks
  3. So are blues what I want for typical Internal use?
  4. Okay, so this is probably a dumb question, but what do I do for HDD storage? There are like dozens of options that all have the same or similar stats (7200 rpm, 6gbs, 65mb cache); but wildly different pricing? Like all these colors from Western Digital; Animals from Seagate. It is almost too much to figure out... I want to have a good 3-4 TB of storage for saving video files I record. What is the most cost effective way to do this? Should I just ignore HDD and go straight SSD? I'm a bit lost. Thank you.
  5. How much of a difference would like CAS Latency 16 vs CAS Latency 14 or 18? Is smaller number better?
  6. So something like this is preferable? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231977&utm_medium=Email&utm_source=IGNEFL032919C&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL032919C-_-EMC-032919-Latest-_-DesktopMemory-_-20231977-S1A4C&ignorebbr=1 DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) Timing 16-18-18-38 CAS Latency 16 Voltage 1.35V
  7. I don't plan to OC or push my system in any way. I prefer to run just stock settings. I was looking at g.skill 3000 or 3200mhz kits as my preference and in the 80-95$ price range. Is there anything about the ram besides the 3000mhz or 3200mhz that i should really care about running stock?
  8. So even if I buy the same exact RAM 6 months later because it is a different kit there will probably be issues?
  9. So another thing I am trying to figure out is if I end up grabbing a ryzen 3600 in a few months when they come out what sort of RAM should I go for? 3000mhz? 3200? less? I plan to start with a 16gb kit 2x8 and then add on another 16gb kit down the road. Any suggestions or insight is helpful and appreciated! Sorry if this is super noob question.
  10. So I am trying to decide what motherboard to purchase for the upcoming ryzen 3000 series releases. I plan on getting the Ryzen 5 3600 8/16 core cpu. (assuming that is the correct name) It is the mid tier cpu and the price point I need to have. If I purchase a mobo now and just wait on it until the cpu's come out I can not just plug and play correct? I need to update BIOS to the new gen? If so; how is that done easily? Do I just throw the BIOS on a usb and use that? Should I wait for the 450/470 mobos that come pre-loaded with the BIOS? I'm looking to not spend very much on the mobo itself so the 500 series coming out is out of the question. Thank you for your time!
