im wondering if i should just get an ethernet splitter so i can be wired into the modem and still be able to feed into the router for wifi

the funny part is it works 100% with no problems when wired in from the modem idk what to think I've tried new ethernet cables and since the modem works it cant be the NIC on my computer i don't know what to think

just pinged google on my phone and tried to connect to a game server didnt drop out at all just on pc

how do i check the LAN lol im learning as I go. also it just discounts instantly to any online game i play ill even have a google ping running in the background and as i connect to the game google ping says general failure then timed out few times then starts working again the game might stay connected for 1 or 2 seconds then disconnects

ok i just checked in router settings allow pings from WAN port and LAN ports were unchecked i enabled them and now the gateway is pinging but i still cant connect to any online game server

internet works 100% on modem but on router i can only surf the web and not connect to any online game server

cant leave the network? idk i typed ipconfig and copied the default gateway 192.168.0.1 don't know what else it could be

I just pinged my routers default gateway and it says request timed out even tho i have internet now i can brows the web but for some reason cant play online games just says can't connect to host

the problem came out of nowhere and I discovered that running VPN seems to fix the problem ive already updated network adapters and router drivers any help at all appreciated

ill try the DNS flush and I mean I changed the Ethernet cable to make sure it wasn't faulty

ya just my pc other devices are connected wirelessly with no problems. I don't think its firefox cause i pinged google and it randomly drops out online games are unplayable all I can do is browse the web wich drops connection every minute or so

NIC are network adapters right? I checked in device manager and says they are up to date and no I don't have another PC to test

updated router and network adapters pc 4 years old AM3 motherboard router fairly new around 6 or 7 devices connected to network

i updated router drivers few days ago no change built the pc 4 years ago

My Wifi works fine but my Ethernet connected PC keeps dropping connection intermittently. I changed The Ethernet but same thing happens so it has to be my PC right? this just randomly started happening a week ago any help would be appreciated.
