  1. SPECS: i5 9600K MSI GeForce RTX 2070 ARMOR 8G Z390-A Pro motherboard 2 x 8GB DDR4 3000MHz (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) EVGA SuperNOVA 550 G3 I recently bought a pair of Corsair 8GB DDR4 3000MHz sticks of RAM (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) to use with my Z390-A Pro motherboard. This was to replace a slightly different model of the same RAM which was not compatible, which I discussed here: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/1067113-incompatible-ram/?tab=comments#comment-12597029 My problem is that when I enable XMP to make use of the 3000MHz my PC will blue-screen upon booting. When I turn XMP off I can run my PC fine but am limited to 2133MHz. I have tested each stick of ram individually in all motherboard slots and both work fine by themselves, implying that the hardware is not damaged (I could be wrong though). In my BIOS I can see that it correctly automatically detects the RAM latency figures and voltage, and will allow me to enable XMP to use 3000MHz. However when using both sticks, the detected latency figures and voltage are wrong. Setting these manually does not solve the problem. I have checked my hardware for compatibility and all seems OK. My friend also has the exact same setup as me with no problems. Any help on this would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
  2. I thought this may be the case, but if I enable XMP my PC will show an error message on boot, saying: "All settings were reset to default values. The previous overclock settings have failed, system has been restored to its default settings. Press F1 to run setup. Press F2 to load default values and continue." I can't get past this error, leading me to believe my motherboard doesn't like my RAM model.
  3. I few months ago I built a PC with a Z390-A Pro motherboard and Corsair 3000MHz DDR4 Memory (CMK16GX4M2D3000C16). Since then I've been only getting ~2132MHz and couldn't figure out why. I found out today that this exact model is not compatible with my motherboard and that I need the slightly more expensive model (CMK16GX4M2B3000C15) instead. Here is the list of compatible RAM models: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/support/Z390-A-PRO#support-mem-3 Is there no way I can get the 3000MHz out of my current model? Why do these two models both come up when you search for "Corsair 3000MHz DDR4" on Amazon/Aria PC and why does only one work with my motherboard? ? Thanks for any help on this.
