Hey so I picked up the SSD and 2 8gb sticks of ram. I installed the RAM and just need another other the smaller SATA 3 cables for the SSD. Should I be noticing any kind of difference in function with the new extra 16gb?

Prime day helped out a bunch I picked up 2 8 gb or ram and a 1tb internal sata 3 SSD

Ah alright. Yeah my 970 is a little outdated compared to that. I'm personally looking for something that will last me a while. Overall I just want to have a rig that doesn't have any stutter starting up or running things like videos and game while needing to do my video editing work

Yeah my boss only offered me like 25 bucks off the card lol so i didn't take it. He is a business man after all. I think ill probably do the RAM and SSD since i don't have an SSD. Upgrading the card is last prio since 970 is still fairly good for modern games. Do you have any suggestions for an SSD and GPU?

My biggest problem right now is that it seems like no matter what i do my entire rig is slowing down week by week. I used to be able to open up something like my league of legends client in a few seconds now it takes at least 2 minutes. I'm trying to really do anything besides a clean install but i can't think of anything else that isn't my components right now.

Wait how would I be saving 70 bucks if i get the card for 150 something? Also the 2060 seems nice but a little far out of my budge atm. I would definitely be able to pick that up after my next paycheck though. What about like a 1070 or something similar?

Hey all, Currently I've been having some issues with my rig. I've had the same components for about 6-7 years and recently its been being sluggish. I do some basic video editing and gaming on this rig but it's never run this slow before. My specs are as followed I have the opportunity to pick up a GTX 1660 from my boss since he doesn't need it after purchasing it. I was wondering if this would be a good pick up? Also based on the specs would this be the best way to restore my rig to its former glory? Sorry if this is in the wrong section. Kind of making this post in between extra work from home. Thanks in advance!

I was thinking about setting up a work profile for my new pixel 3 and set it up but decided I didn't want my work having permissions on my phone. I have deleted the work profile but is there anything else I need to delete? Just want to make sure my device is private to me and not my work lol Sorry for the dumb question

Hmm well i only just replaced it about 6 months or so ago. I will dedust tonight and see if that helps. I do know that i'm gonna be upgrading my 970 card soon as well regardless

Ah ok. I don't have any Thermal on hand but i'm gonna do a full dedusting to see if that works first. I do know that the back exhaust fan has issues where is just doesn't spin sometimes as well so i wouldn't be surprised if the heat is an issue as well.

Ok I will try that out tonight. About how long should thermal paste last though? I remember replacing mine now but it was about over a few months ago.

Hey all! Very new to the forums here (actually made this account for this post) and this is probably a question you get a lot. But i built my PC about 5 years ago. My question in short is can the age of my CPU, graphics card ect effect the performance? I feel as thought lately my entire rig has been lagging. I used to be able to stream and watch youtube videos while playing games and now playing a youtube video while playing a low intensity game like League of Legends i get frame drop and freezes. I have very basic knowledge outside of general IT work (not so much with higher tech stuff) If this isn't the right place to post let me know so i can fix it
