  1. i just tried that, it still says "There was a problem resetting this PC" every time.
  2. The one that I took a picture of last night was "DRIVER VERIFIER DETECTED VIOLATION" The one that I got literally just now was "Critical Process Died" and now it's attempting to auto repair.
  3. So last night, my roommate came into my room with his laptop which he said had been bricked since August 2020, right after he bought it on eBay from a reputable seller. It's a 2016 ASUS ROG Strix Laptop (not sure the specific model but it has a gtx 970m and a 6th gen i7) that hits BSOD randomly after booting into windows, but especially while trying to run games. I powered on the computer and it posted, so I had him log in and then I downloaded and ran a Malwarebytes scan to see what was going on. It came back with 5 threats and 695 PUP files. I also noticed that programs were instantly opening and running, and not in a normal "apps starting on login" kind of way. It was the equivalent of watching a fireworks show except the fireworks are command prompts and the sky is pain. I tried to clear as many junk programs as I could, and then I updated windows and reinstalled his nvidia drivers, but after about 3 BSODs I decided it would be easier to just wipe the laptop (he didn't have any personal files to keep) and reset. I went through the Windows reset steps, but it got stuck at 33% for hours before eventually coming back with "There was a problem resetting this PC" and then it booted into what appeared to be a clean windows install, but then after I tried to reinstall some drivers and update windows, it crashed again. Each time I've gotten a different error code. After doing some preliminary research, I think that the issue is either being caused by a driver that I could probably root out and fix, or malware that infected his drives and is not allowing a reset. My current plan is to attempt another recovery using a thumb drive, but if anyone has any tips they would be much appreciated!
  4. Today was a day like any other, I woke up, went through my morning routine and sat down to check my email. I had left my pc running overnight but only to listen to music, so no other applications were running. When I looked at my desktop, I was surprised to see that the majority of my icons had been moved to my second monitor, aside from a few random shortcuts. This was odd, as my pc had not restarted or been scheduled for an update, but I brushed it off and moved the icons back, continuing my day. About an hour ago, I went to open up a project from FL Studio, only to receive a warning that files were missing from the project and could not be located. I was confused, but both of the files were from the same folder which was on my desktop. When I checked for the folder, it was missing, and when I did a full search of my pc, the only results were shortcuts to the file from months ago that failed when I tried to use them. I looked in my Recycling bin, but it hadn't been emptied and the folder also wasn't there. Does anyone have any advice on next steps or things I can do? TL/DR: My desktop icons were moved while I was asleep, and a folder has disappeared off of my computer without a trace.
  5. How would I go about doing that? Never have been sure as to what an RMA really was lmao.
  6. I have downloaded the software and unistalled/reinstalled multiple times, the GPU leds dont even turn on (before software takes control) during boot.
  7. I personally love my 2070 (non S) and have had no issues running any of the latest GPU heavy games.
  8. This is my final act of desperation. After months of owning this card and attempting to figure out why my LED's won't turn on, I have tried every troubleshooting technique in the book. The card works perfectly fine, however, the LED's on the fans and in the GIGABYTE logo do not turn on during boot or when the PC is running. I have literally no idea what is wrong and unless it's an issue with the physical installation that I can't see, I have no idea why it won't turn on. If anyone has any suggestions, please respond!! -Dante
  9. Thank you! Fingers crossed that I don't drop $600 on a card just to have it not fit lmao.
  10. they've changed the way they build this system it's actually the old version of the Neuron PC and since then they've switched cases/components so I can give you a full parts list but i don't think they'll have a link to the old system
  11. wifi card will have to go then, I'll either go for external wifi or for ethernet which ive been meaning to set up anyways
  12. I'm going to sound stupid but what do you mean by a link of the pc?
  13. I will probably end up going with ethernet once i get that set up in this room but the bottom card is a sound card which i need to record for music production
  14. Yeah I'm hoping that it doesn't interfere but if so i may need to find a way to reroute it around the card.
  15. So I bought a prebuilt system a while back before I trusted myself to build a computer, and have decided that it's time to upgrade my graphics card from a 1050ti to a 1080ti, my current concern is whether there is enough space both in my case (due to the wiring) and space between my wifi card and graphics card. As you can see in the photos (apologies for the quality) there is a cable running down from my motherboard just at the edge of where the 1050ti is now, and Im worried that that cable may pose an issue when trying to install the new card. The card that is going to be installed is a Windforce GTX 1080ti (https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Graphics-Card/GV-N108TAORUS-X-11GD#kf) so if anyone has any suggestions about different cards that may fit better or a way to manage my space better please let me know!
