So ik this is probably very unusual to see on this forum but I'm a freshman in school and I have a journalism class and what I am writing about is what it is like to build a computer. I have built my own computer but I can't include myself so I need ur help. I need anyone that has built a computer to comment on this post and either tell me 1. I bought the ASUS Intel 8th Gen micro atx board bc I plan on buying a new 8th gen cpu so i got the motherboard and I was wondering can I pop my i3-7100 in the board and wait till I get the new cpu to put it in or should or do I have to wait for a 8th gen CPU

I know the motherboard is compatible with 8th gen but I just want to make sure the i5-9400f will fit the Asus lga 1151 8th gen board ik it's a dumb question but just making sure or will it just need a new bios
