  1. Hey guys, for anyone interested in a follow up, I found the issue! It seems that after a full reboot when changing the fans the graphics cards applied the correct (default?) fan curves! I didn't change anything but it appears that the fan curves applied the first time where super agressive and after a reboot when installing the new fans, for whatever reason the graphic cards applied correct way more moderate fan curves. So yeah it had nothing to do with the front fans being swapped just a coincidence, but thanks everyone for the tips and the explanations!
  2. No not at all, I may have not expressed my self in the best way. I upgraded my PC with new CPU, RAM, GPU and motherboard and kept my old 120mm front fans. With all that my new GPU (the 7900XTX) was hitting 90 degrees in Cyberpunk. Then 1 week latter I changed the front fans, I literally just did that, and I see 70 degrees on the new gpu (the 7900XTX) in Cyberpunk witht he exact same settings and windows install. It seems really weird to me too and I don't really understand what could have happened, that's why I'm posting here.
  3. No I changed thermal paste when I changed the CPU so before installing the 7900XTX. The only thing I did between those temps is really change the front fans of the case.
  4. Hey guys, I'm wondering if it is normal to get a 20°C improvements on GPU when swapping front fans from 120mm to 140mm ? To explain I just upgraded my build from a 3800X-2070 Super combo to a 7800X3D-7900XTX combo. I bought and started playing Cyberpunk maxed out with my new system and my 7900XTX (Saphire nitro+) was like a jet engine and was really loud and in Adrenaline was showing 90°C temps under 100% load in Cyberpunk. Thought it was normal, annoying none the less, but I attributed it to being used to my 2070 Super which of course consumed way less power and everything. For information I did not do any kind of fan curve tuning and juste enabled Asus PBO in the BIOS but didn't touch anything fan related... Today after a week I saw that I had two 140mm noctua (https://www.amazon.ca/-/fr/chromax-Black-swap-ventilateur-silencieux-qualité-supérieure/dp/B07654B9MR/) fans laying around and thought that I would replace my dual 120mm front noctua (https://www.amazon.ca/-/fr/NF-A12x25-chromax-Black-swap-ventilateur-silencieux-supérieure/dp/B09C6DQDNT/) fans because it can't hurt. My case is a NZXT H510 Flow. After changing the front fans, when playing Cyberpunk, I get the same FPS but the 7900XTX is really quiet and temps in Adrenaline shows 70°. The improvements are incredible and honestly a life changer in terms of noise (no more jet engines!) and of course temps: -20° is incredible. The thing is it seems too good to be true, and I don't really know if it's the fans or something else... Do you guys think it's the fans because the 120mm fans where a model that did not provide enough airflow and that combined with a bigger, more able 140mm fans did the trick? Maybe it's auto tuning by asus or amd software that was like learning and dialed everything right by coincidence just after changing the front fans? Of course I gladly take the win, just really curious about the how and why to learn!
  5. Thanks, yeah it seems like a really good choice! The AW3423DW seems to be cheaper and have Gsync ultimate (at least of dell.ca, due to a "promotion"). Is it worth it or should I stick with the AW3423DWF? I have heard that there is a really good burn-in warranty (3 years) that comes with those alienware model. Do you know if they are really solid (any burn-in = replacment) or does it need special condition for the burtn-in warranty to be in effect? Thanks for your advice!
  6. Nice ! Is the HDR nice ? From what I read the Alienware 34 dw is the same but with more brightness
  7. I see thanks for the info ! Yeah it seems like Q1 2024 would be my best bet to get a nice 34"...
  8. I want to upgrade my 2070 SUPER with the next generation of GPU (Something like a 5080). The monitor looks great but it a little bit big for me, I'm more in the 31-38" max
  9. Oh ok, would that be later this year or like more down the line 2024 and later ? I didn't know that these pannel where still first gen OLEDS's
  10. Hello guys, I'm searching for a ultrawide OLED monitor for under 2000$ CAD (can go up if I found the perfect one). The specs I have in mind are : 31" or more OLED Great color accuracy Very good HDR 120hz or more Gsync or Vsync 1440p (I have a 2070 super so 4k would be a little much in games) It's mainly for gaming and media consumption. I've looked at the Odyssey OLED G8 and the Alienware aw3423dw/aw3423dwf but not really sure which one is a good (the alienware for exemple seems to have some firmware issues with HDR, not sure if it's resolved.) Would love your advice on this one, thanks!
  11. Hello Guys ! I hope your all doing well with the current situation ! I have a simple question concerning webcams for mac. As a lot of people, I've started to work from home, and to attend meetings, I've bought a webcam. Logitech peripherals always worked very well with my PC, so I've bought a logitech C920HD. But for work related reasons, I'm forced to use two setups, a mac mini and a windows laptop (both hooked up to the same screen). The probleme is that the C920HD has a very large angle, and people in my meetings can see the whole room, and that's not ideal since other people use the office as well... So I tried, with logitech software, to zoom in or change the very large base angle of the webcam, but in macOS the logitech software seems to be not updated since a while (as they say on their website), and on the windows side, the logitech software is usable, but when I zoom in, the supposed croped / zoomed output is broken (Like if the camera turns on and off very second). So now I have a camera with a way to large angle (very not convenient), and no software to use in macOS and a unsuable software output in Windows... Does anyone have a suggestion for a 1080p webcam with a way tighter angle that works well in macOS and Windows ? (or juste that have a software to zoom in, but that works in both OS ?) Thanks in advance to everyone that takes the time to read this and help me Have a nice day !
  12. Wow thanks a lot ! I'll going to look deeply into both options but first one seems really sweet intermes of size/performance/price ! Have a great day
  13. I've looked a little in this direction, but they seem really hard to get in Europe, I cant find a retailer with lot of options, especially the mid range options (not gaming, but not the lowest spec either...) but I'm gonna dig a little deeper !
  14. Oh yes, forgot about the Budget... Ideally it's around 400€, but it can stretch to 800€ if there is a real value added
  15. Hello guys, I'm coming her for your suggestions about a PC I want to build for a family member. I'm searching to build a PC, with the main characteristic is the small size. It must be a little quiet (not making the noise of a airplane landing while idle ). The goal is to use it for tasks like web surfing, word documents, media consumption... But it should be able to do slight video editing when needed. After a little research I believe the best option for the form factor is mini-ITX, and for the processor maybe a first or second gen ryzen 3 (ryzen 1600AF ?) with a small graphics card or a ryzen 3 2200G with integrated graphics... For storage a little sata SSD and a 1TO HDD. The thing is I've only build in mid/large towers so I'm afraid of the complexity of the build... And for the other parts (Case, PSU, cpu cooler...) I cant find a reliable source of good info for directions... So to sum everything up, I'm searching for an easy to build, small for factor PC, not too loud and not too powerful (but with a little punch if needed)... I'll love to hear advice and critics from you guys ! Have a nice day
  16. Hi guys, thanks for all the help ! Rotating the cooler was the solution ! The cooler is not centered on the cpu so as streetguru said, there is one side taller than the other ! The graphics card fits very easily now ! Thanks for the tip streetguru !
  17. Thanks, gonna try that as well if the cooler flip method doesnt work !
  18. Hello guys, I come to you for help ! I just built my first PC yesterday and everything worked perfectly on the first shot ! Expect for the graphics card.... My motherboard is the Asus Prime X570-P and I have a Noctua cooler (DH-15S) on top of a Ryzen 7 3800X. After assembling everything, I noticed that the Noctua cooler covers the first PCIe sot and i cant put my 2070 Super graphics card in on that slot... It's just impossible without contact between the cooler and the graphics card. My system is in a H500 case from NZXT. So i tried to put my 2070 Super in the second and last PCIex16 slot, and it worked, i booted and everything, but in windows the graphics card isnt showing up (Task Manager and Device Manager). After looking around online, I cant find a solid answer : Can i put my GPU onto the second PCIex16 slot on this motherboard without any performance loss ? The thing that makes me so doubtful is that on the manual of the board it is written that the first PCIex16 slot doesn't work the same way as the second (but i cant really understand what it is said - See linked image). So if i need to put the graphics card onto the first PCIEx16 slot, can i rotate the Noctua cooler by 90 degrees, making enough room for the card to fit onto the first slot, or is it a bad idea / impossible due to the way it's build to rotate the cooler in such a way ? Thanks in advance for all your advices, and sorry for my poor english (i'm not a native speaker...) !
