  1. Upgraded to ryzen 5800x/asus rog strix e x570 mobo this last summer. From Day 1 I have had constant issues. I first had 32 gigs (8x4) Gskill trident pc 3200 Ram. When I put them all in, i kept getting several BSOD's. Formatted tried again, same thing. I tested one stick in each slot and found that when I had a stick in either of the 2 inner slots closest to CPU these BSODs would pop up. I can have stick in the outer 2 and its fine. Thought maybe it was my ram and bought 16 gigs of corsair vengeance pro pc 3600, but same issue. I also kept trying to clock my ram to its usable speed, but system wouldnt even post. Then in november I gave windows 11 and try, and out of curiousity tried doing everything again. still BSOD's on those slots but I can clock the ram now. Went bac to win 10 and ram clock still works good. My vid card is an aorus 2070 super and since I have put it in the motherboard, my video card gpu is at full speed even when pc is idle, the fans dont kick in unless i use MSI afterburner and set them high and the rgb on the card doesnt come on at all. Ive tried the card in another system and same thing. Put my old vid card in my system and still got the BSOD's with the ram switched I bought the motherboard from memory express over a year ago and wasnt able to get the cpu until this last summer. I took the motherboard back there and they did a 10 day test on it, they couldnt not replicate my issues. Now its past store warranty I would have to RMA it if thats the case. Im sure my vid card is screwed and have a new one on the way. But with the BSOD's and the memory issue Id like help to know what could be the cause? was it my vid card, could it be the cpu? I need to know what I need to replace because right now I can do one last upgrade/part switch for the next year and a half. Wife and I planned next 20 months of goals to acheive and I wont be buying any parts until then. This is my last chance to have a stable system for next 2 years. Ive added the 4 most common BSOD's I was getting. Yes I have latest BIOS too.
  2. So, one year ago I bought an Asus rog strix x570-e motherboard. Sat on my shelf until last June when I could finally get my hands on a Ryzen 5800x. I upgraded from Aorus z370 gaming 5 with I5-8500. Put it all together and I kept having BSOD every couple of minutes. I got the following errors over and over again KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED PAGE FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA What failed: Npfs.sys UNEXPECTED KERNEL MODE What Failed: amdppm.sys I have 32 gigs (8x4) of pc3200 GSkill trident memory. After repeated attempts and windows reinstalled, I started checking hardware. First i figured maybe my ram wasnt compatible or something, bout 16 gigs of corsair vengeance pro. Still same issues. I found that system runs when I only use the A2 and B2 slots. Soon as I stick one in A1 or B1, i get these issues. Spent over a week trying to figure it out and threw in the towel and took it to local geek squad ( only place I could afford in my town) to give it a once over. They tested CPU it was fine but could not get a memory test going at all. Without spending another 250 for full system redo and piece check, they said something has to be up with the motherboard. I sent it back to Asus under my 1 year warranty, pics of all the errors, they sent it back saying they updated BIOS and could not repeat any of these issues. Everything ran fine. I put it all together and bam same shit. Now I am not sure what is going on with it. The other issue I feel may be causing it is my video card. I have an Aorus 2070 super 8g. I did notice the first install and its still doing it that even though its running and fans are working, theres nothing lighting up in the rgb on the card. fans work but no light up. rgb software on my pc doesnt detect the card. but system says its there, games are doing over 100fps no issues what so ever, msi afterburner monitors it just fine. If anyone has any idea what is going on with my setup please help. I spend half the year in a miners camp away from civilization and this is my only relaxation when i get home. 3. I am trying to get into streaming more and have an option to use a 2nd monitor with my system. I got an elgato HD60s external capture/streaming card. Is it possible to play on my LG 32 1440p 144hz monitor still using my displayport , use the card for streaming and have the other 1080p monitor connected to the output of the elgato and use it for watching my stream, chat etc or would I need to hook it up via displayport cord as well to my system and just have the elgato by itself.
  4. Shipping Grande Prairie to California. 80 was cheapest with Purolator. I bought it off newegg.ca but I was overseas for work when I bought in april, didnt get home until 2 weeks ago. Neweggs rma policy expired. The old psu isnt modular, all cables built in its almost a decade old so i only used the cables that came with the 1000
  5. Just upgraded my old Corsair TX750 to a RM1000x. Hooked everything up, turned on my PC and everything ran for about 30 seconds, boot logo was on screen. Then most items just shut off, the vid card, case fans, cpu cooler etc. All the RGB on my motherboard and my RAM was still going in rainbow mode like it usually does when it boots up. I turned off the PSU and waited about 10 minutes then tried again, my case fans moved like they got jump started, like started to rotate but stopped after half a second. All the RGB on motherboard and RAM came on again thats all I can get. I put my old PSU back in and everything works fine. Its been going for days now on it. Contacted Corsair they setup a RMA ticket but shipping it back on my dime is going to be 80 bucks. Just want to make sure do you guys think my new PSU died or am I just not doing something right with the cables. 6. OK so need some help guys. I am currently on a 6 month work contract in India and I come home (To Canada) in 4.5 weeks. Since being out here I have been ordering parts from several sites going back to my house ready for me to upgrade my system. The last thing I need to get a new monitor. So far been couch gaming on a sharp 40" 4k tv but going to setup a proper desk and such so I want to be in that 1440p 144hz zone. Before anyone says well why not wait until you get home to pick one, wife and I made a deal. I can order what I want while out here cause of the bonus cash I'm making. That stops when I get home, so I need to order it before I step on the plane. Looking at budget around 600-800 CAD, whats your guys suggestions.
  7. Okay this isn't just a normal whats your preference question. I am wondering if anyone can recommend a great gaming chair with a very plush seat. Reason being is I broke and twisted my tail bone few years ago after a night of tequila, stairs and thought I go down them like a Looney Tunes cartoon character. Hard and firm surfaces are very uncomfortable, sometimes painful after just an hour of sitting on them. I am wanting to switch from couch gaming to actual gaming area and looking for best gaming chair where the seat is more plush but not feeling like I'm sitting on it, pretty much the equivalent of sitting on a rubber donut you get in hospitals, or at least something as close as possible. Any suggestions?
  8. Hey guys, I got my case several months ago and I am thinking of giving it a new paint job. Something brighter haven't decided yet but I know I don't like the black brushed aluminum strip on the front. Never dealt with this stuff before how would I go about stripping it to be silver?
